Happy Thread™.

This is the little puppy that a friend gave me to take care of while she went on the dog show circuit...she's a teeny tiny 1 pound Yorkie...I'll probably keep her.

Her name is Gracie.

This is my dog, Toby. We rescued him from a local shelter back in November of 2002.

Yes, he visited Santa back in 2003. Don't ask.

He hides when he knows he's about to get a bath, too.

The one on the left is Biscuit (named after Brian's mother from Family Guy)
The one on the right is Mikey. (Picked him up for free at Petsmart)

It would seem they're going at it like cats and dogs.

Great thread!

I'll add in one 14 month old Golden Retriever. The pics are from various months over the last year.

In one of them you can see our cat also. All she does is sleep!

Nope, she's a medium hair black kitty. And ironically for her name, she hates being the element in a picture, so we have very few good pics of her.

Thanks!

She is awesome...I think my favourite pet of all time.

I have always had short haired labs prior to this one, and the amount of shedding she is doing right now is amazing. Long hairs equal a lot more work in that department.

My word of advice when you get your retriever, take her to a groomer around the beginning of March, again in the beginning of May, and once more around the beginning of July. It will save you a lot of headache!!!

p.s. She is a chick magnet for sure!

Can you spot the three pets? In that photo? Wilson on top, Shadow in the box, and Murphy wondering what the heck is going on.

Though Wilson was such a cute kitten.

You're lucky you get to sleeop that long - we've got 4 cats, 2 tabby/Scottish Wildcat hybrid, 1 Maine Coon and 1 Bengal, and they all takes turn in waking us at 04:00 in the morning!

If we don't get up to feed them, then our toes get "played" with.

Our three have "their own room" (the laundry room) for that very purpose. It's got the litter box, food and water, and their beds (door-less cat carriers with nice soft towels). They do not like being left in there too late in the morning, but they don't get to chew on toes, either, so it's all fuss and no blood.

good luck. usually it works the other way. Cat already in residence keeps new dog in line.

Here's a link to Jimmy Lee whose experiments to find the least amount of energy needed to stay alive moved to their ultimate conclusion last summer (he took a nap and never woke up). He was able to maintain a perfect 21 pounds no matter how little food he received. He is gone but he is still big in our hearts.

Be careful with any concrete stairs. I'm not joking. This is how my hostfather's miniature Yorkshire died. He fell down two (!) steps. Poor thing cracked its skull. It was the most bizzarre death of an animal I have heard of to date.
