...and stupid. My god is that a pathetic attempt at making an "underground" site. Ugh. Who is that going to work on? Besides perhaps a 15-year old Hot Topic fashionista?

Interesting advertising. You have to admit that a LOT of people have iPods because "everybody I know has one!" That's awful sheep-like.

I have one because there are darn few listenable radio stations between the points I drive, and personal music is better than none at all by a long shot.

SanDisk is a good firm, and they have a good campaign on their hands with "iDon't." But "I don't" see their product displacing the iPod for most people.

So is Sandisk going to stop selling MP3 players once they have 10% of the market?

Its funny, Sandisk's whole argument is "don't buy what everyone else is buying". But you can be damn sure that they wish every single day that they had half of the iPod's market share. Hell, you know they would rather have it all. Then that little "iDon't" campaign wouldn't work too well.

Makes sense... it's essentially the Think Different campaign but darker.

Hmmm... they call me a sheep for not buying their MP3 player that only works on Windows XP.

I think I'll be buying Lexar flash for my cameras from now on.

If I'm a sheep for using a fantastic product, call me a sheep. It's not like I'm using Windows.

Well, Apple's no different, of course. You don't see the "Think Different" campaign anymore now that the iPod is a market leader.

Of course, the thing about their MP3 player only working in Windows kind of messes up their position if it's true...

The thing about "Think Different" was that it was more subtle. That campaign didn't call Windows users idiots or sheep. "iDon't" is more comparable to "Lemmings," which is probably the worst-conceived ad Apple ever did.

It's funny Apple being the market leader with the iPod. That said I can understand San's whole stick with it. The problem is that their product tries to be a little too much LIKE the iPod but not... I dono, they call themselves different but they're not that different. There's nothing special about their player.

Oh please You buy a product for the products quality, not for the ad campaigns quality.

There's a thread in the iPod forum about this particular ad campaign. Some people are taking it personally-which makes SanDisk's point about "sheep" pretty well.

It's just an ad, for cryin' out loud!

That's a ridiculous site.

Has it occured to Sandisk that the iPod might actually be *gasp* A GOOD PRODUCT?

That's like some nutjob saying "don't buy a CAR...get a motorcycle instead".

Stupid.

I love how all these MP3 players complain about only one source for legal downloads... most iPods aren't filled solely by legal downloads.

Yeah, that's one thing I noticed about most of the anti-iPod sites. They try and make it sound like the only thing you can listen to on an iPod is stuff purchased from iTunes. When they should be complaining that you can only listen to stuff purchased from iTunes on an iPod. But we all know that's not true.

I'm not the biggest fan of SanDisk quality, since I bought a USB flash drive of theirs a while ago and it died within a few months.

With that said, at least their MP3 player has a frigging record feature built in... grumble grumble...

I don't buy them anymore. Too little good music coming out. Too expensive. Too risky (I run Windows, a CD could install who knows what).

I just buy from iTunes. It's easier and cheaper.

99% of the music on my iPod nano is from CDs I buy. The other 1% is music from iTunes that I got for free from Sierra Mist caps. I don't like digital music stores because it woulda been 2% of my music, but I accidently deleted them.

So, CDs only for me. Usually 2nd hand CDs. They're cheap, and once I rip 'em to my comptuer I just file them away so they don't get scratched.

That's basically what I do... I've removed all my illegal songs from my computer. It's just not worth it.

I have no experience with them personally, but to boycott a product because of a petty ad campaign, which has no affect on anyones life? Puhllllease.
