I am going to 32 soon, and keep eyeing that new mario game. Reminds me of my old nes super mario. Anyone here over 30 and have a ds, and if so do you play it often and enjoy it?

As long as you enjoy it, theres nothing wrong with that. I have a 40+ friend who still play ps2, n64, pc games, psp, and ds as well. He likes playing games, he even plays ghost recon with his son (also a friend of mine).

Edit: We used to play starcraft a few years back. That's how I met the guy.

I'm 31 and I love my DS. There are lots of great games that appeal to older people on the go.

I highly recommend Advance Wars DS, Castlevania, New Super Mario Bros, Tetris DS, Wario Ware DS, and Brain Training. Also fun are Mario Kart DS, Meteos, Metroid Pinball and Sonic.

My sig is 1 pixel too big.

Actually the average gamer is between the ages of 18-35 and they own most of the console systems and/or a PC. I don't see many 40-50 year olds nudging me aside at BestBuy so they can play Gran Turismo 4 but it could happen I guess.

Get it, it's like classic gaming (and I'm a year older than you). I somehow think our generation will always play video games.

I am 33. I just bought the new Mario DS and am eagerly awaiting the release of the DS lite here soon.
I have no problems pulling out a game system and playing a game in public. If people want to dismiss me over something so stupid then I wouldn't want to know them anyway.

If you're older than 18-34 years old and want a Nintendo product, then they're really doing a good job at drawing in new customers from outside the normal demographic like they've been trying to do. Do them a favor and buy a Wii too when it comes out.

I'll certainly be playing [insert future Nintendo product here] when I'm 32.

Why worry about others' perceptions? You're not hurting anyone by playing video games. If you enjoy it, go for it. I for one, am not a big gamer, though I keep tabs on the gaming world. I have an aunt over 50 though who loves her GameCube.

You're only too old for a DS if you think you are. Though paradoxically, if you think you're too old for a DS than you're actually too young for one.

I have one. The only people that have ever looked over my shoulder to see what I'm doing are 10 year olds. Not cool. It's terribly annoying when some brat wants to keep asking you questions about it.

my guy is 27 and was at WalMart the day the new Mario came out to get it, and has since beat it. Anyway, do it, eff everyone else. Do it like he does sometimes, play it on the toity.

I'm 24, and in the process of trying to beat Mario Sunshine on our refurb Game Cube we just got a few weeks ago. (It was raining, we needed something to do, the video game store was close )

I hate that. I got a GameBoy for the subway but my interest in having 11 year old boys hanging over my shoulder is nil. Besides, my kids and the neighbors' kids kept playing over my saved games when I wasn't looking so I gave up. I was very mature tho and didn't buy an xbox just so I could play Halo 2.

I'm 46 in a couple of weeks and never gamed when I was a kid but now I play. Of course, the only people who want to talk about it with me are pre-pubescent boys, it's not exactly a conversation starter at cocktail parties.

But you know what, who cares. It's harmless and none of their business. Besides, my fast-twitch skills are going to be revved for senior citizen driving.

Good luck with that. The game is frustrating, to say the least. If you want some killer games for the GCN, check out Zelda: Wind Waker, SSX-3, Resident Evil 4 (if you like that kind of game), Metroid Prime, and Super Monkey Ball 2.

I am 32 and own a DS, and am about to buy a second for my wife. But really, you shouldn't have to ask. Buy whatever you like. Heck, my friends all come over to play Mario Party on my Game Cube.

I'm 25 and will be getting a DSLite in June. never been a gamer in the portable arena, but the new Mario Bros has pushed me over the edge....and then you got all the other games as well. Not sure if ill be playing it in a portable environment though.

Cheers

I'm seriously debating getting a DS Lite and both mario kart, the new mario game and some of the other great portable games I've been hearing about. Remember when gameboy games were like cheap clones of their N64 counterparts? Now it's flipped it seems like most of the really great games are coming out on the hand helds.

I hate Super Monkey Ball 2! I just don't get it I guess. I'm going to get Zelda, once I beat this one. And some version of Mario Party, probably 5.
