anyone else seen this? its basically a mini movie about the breakup of the band, with some extremely arty shots that blur the line between campy and authentic feeling/emotion. lots of different camera footage very nicely spliced and edited together. the movie part is short (about 40 minutes), and theres also about 40 minutes of live footage from several different concerts with varying quality (from "crap" to damn near perfect). theres also 2 of the bands music videos as well.

all in all, damn good stuff. a friend of mine who i talked to likened the DVD to the release of their "shape of punk to come" album, which was considered groundbreaking in terms of production values, quality of songwriting, artistic vision, etc. most people involved in punk/hardcore were floored upon hearing that album for the first time. in a lot of ways, in his opinion, this is similar. the menus are terribly amazing, but they also dont distract from the presentation in any way. simple, attractive and effective.

has anyone else seen it? if youre a fan of the band, i highly recommend it.

I'm a fan of the band, I've got the DVD as well as the DVD-A re-release of The Shape of Punk to Come. The documentary was very well-produced if a bit short, it took a pretty long time to reach release but I think it was worth it.
I thought it was a very interesting story. They mentioned the bad reception they got at a few venues when they were on tour for The Shape of Punk to Come including the show at The Sunshine Bar in Dundalk Ireland which I had seen a bootleg video of off the net, you can see a guy sitting at a table nodding off to sleep while they play and Dennis makes some really terribly unfunny jokes in-between songs along with his normal political commentary that goes with the songs. Theres also a pretty cool fish-eye shot from that show in the promo that came in with the DVD.

I ripped the live version of The Deadly Rhythm off the DVD with Handbrake, the shots from right next to David Sandström (the drummer) its pretty awesome to watch him play.

I second the recommendation, even if you aren't yet into the band.
