Just saw this. $350 for a new Color Laserjet from HP, includes JetDirect ethernet.

I'm glad to see these getting affordable now. I can't stand inkjet.

And they're getting to be just like inkjets... coming with less-than-full toner cartridges, etc.

Inkjets don't come with starter cartridges. That's always been laser printers' tactic.

What do you mean ?

Many inkjets come with a half full cartridge. I've seen it with Epson.

It's like the .01 item and 399 shipping on eBay.

To be precise, they come with "economy" cartridges rather than "extra capacity" cartridges. Many Epson ink cartridges look less than full when new, even the "extra capacity" ones.

yikes, the printer has no dedicated on-board processor which means that the computer has to do all the work! no postscript or pcl support either.

They make most of their money off the spares for the printers.

I'll be ditching mine as soon as it starts to get low on black toner, toners are WAY to expensive. The thing only cost me £2.20, no thats not a typo.
