Those were issued to Apple employees only back in the early '90's.

I've seen those on eBay before, just not something I could bring myself to wear...and not because they're collectible.

If they were 80's looking with a couple big velcro straps they would be cool.
These look too 90's and if you were pants they will cover the Apple Logos which is what makes it cool in the first place.

I don't think it comes back in full swing, but parts do. I remember flare/bell-bottom jeans in the early/mid-nineties, and vests too. But it's not like everyone was wearing leisure suits. Same with the velcro shoes, track jackets, and 'vintage' shirts now, stuff from the 80s is cool.

Heh, I wasn't aware of this; but then again, I wasn't living in this part of the world during the 80s. I suppose this is why Miami Vice the movie is coming out this summer.

It has to do with how people are most impressionable when they're around 10-20. Then when they mature and settle down in a career at the age of around 30-40, they are the ones making decisions regarding fashion, movies, music, etc, so they set new trends based on what they knew growing up.
For instance, in music, the 80s are definitely in vogue today. 80s icons like Prince, Madonna, Bruce Springsteen, etc, all dropped off the charts in the 90s, but they've finally staged comebacks in the 00s. Because everyone in the music business, from the producers right down to the marketers, reaches the peak of their professional career at around 30-40. They are the ones calling the shots and setting the trends, and so they naturally end up taking especially keen interests in the kinds of music they grew up listening to.
So I predict that by the time the 10s come around, we'll be hearing lots of music that sounds like Oasis and Nirvana, and other 90s bands.

I didn't realize that's out. The local rock radio station plays "Ninety's at Noon" and that's the only time I can stand it.

Interesting perspective, Kerrigan. So that's why pop rock seems to have regressed to the '80s in recent times (fulfilling one of my worst fears)? I despise '80s music.
