Can I just pick up and start watching again tonight you think? I skipped most of the 2nd season.

my roomate just told me about this show, and the previews I saw for it looked pretty sweet. I'm gonna watch and see if I can get into it.

try to get ahold of the previous seasons just to understand the reason for The 4400. i have a feeling they are going to rely on what happened in seasons 1 & 2, not a ton, but of enough to justify watching them.

i'll be watching it tonight.
it's a solid sci-fi concept with enough twists to keep me coming back to find out what happens next.

I've been aboard since Episode One and look forward to tonight. If season one was a 10, season two was only a 6. Hopefully they'll be back on track this year.

I thought most of season 2 was pretty good.

However, despite the fact it's filmed in Canada, we Canadians don't get Season 3 until the fall, unless we can watch it on NBC directly. I'll have to check. If not, maybe I'll have to resort to BT...

I have been unable to figure out what that show is about from the commercials.

A bolt of light lands on earth, and 4400 people emerg from it, all of whom were previous alien abductees.

They come back with no memory whatsoever of what happened, and have not aged. Some are kids, and some are adults. Some were abducted a few years ago, and some were abducted many decades ago. Many (all?) have come back with special powers, but the purposes of these powers is not known.

Tom Baldwin (an uncle to one of the 4400) and Diana Skouris, who work for the National Threat Assessment Command (and a division of the Department of Homeland Security), are made partners and tasked with investigating the 4400.

I watched the entire season 1, really liked it, and missed the whole of season 2. I found what i think is a clip show summarizing season 2. I think i'll watch it and then keep up with season 3.

Spoilers ahead:

I can't believe they killed Lilly! I really liked her character (plus she was hot). It really seemed like she decided to leave the show and the writers had to make up for it, because she wasn't in the episode at all. Anyone know anything about that?

All glory to the hypnotoad.

The Season 3 premiere absolutively sucked. I am very, very disappointed.

EDIT:

To clarify: The whole Lily thing smelled of a contract dispute, and Isabelle's story and acting sucked. The overall 84 minutes were extremely disorganized, and tried to pack too many things in without developing any of them. And Diana Skouris looked like she was wearing a mask - probably just an overdone makeup job, but it almost seemed like she was the product of an overzealous plastic surgeon.

Frak!

Even with the "Spoilers Ahead" warning, I couldn't avert my eyes quickly enough and that's a huge one.

I'm living back and forth between my parents and my in-laws all summer while our house is being built. No TiVo... Just an old-fashioned VCR. I hadn't seen it yet and now I know my favorite character (okay, favorite lust-item) is dead.

<sigh>

Close, but no. They were abducted by HUMANS FROM THE FUTURE — not aliens. THAT'S the whole point.

Great way to give away the plot to someone who hasn't see the series yet. Way to go. Viewers don't learn that "point" until the end of the second season.

Meh. Given the über crappo intro to the 3rd season, the only way of enjoying the 4400 so far is to watch Season 1 and 2.

There's better TV out there...

You're the one "giving it away" already.

^^^ What are you talking about? Everything I said is pretty much in the 4400 pilot.

Anyways, it may all be moot soon enough. I suspect it's gonna get cancelled after this season.

Really good episode.

What was up with the ending? Did he shed his skin or was he just wearing a costum?

i'm guessing he had completed his treatment and his ability was in full swing (therefore he healed himself).

The last scene was kind of lame, though. Hopefully, we'll see that he really wasn't talking to us...

yeah, the last scene threw me too! i even started to think about what could have been done to keep the shot they wanted, but not have it so jarring to the audience.

if they would have shown the guy ask "50/50, do you want one?" looking at the camera, then cut to another angle where we see it's diana's sister, "no guarantees," he says as she takes it and walks away. "there never is" then cut to black. but, just my idea.

i didn't even think about if he was talking to another character we know (or will come to know), considering we just saw april take one. i hope it's so.
