My local tandoori takeout is pretty quick. 20 minutes or a free chana masala!

I came to this thread expecting either blatant racism or a funny youtube movie. And I got neither.

I also thought it was a great movie. Everyone should see it. Unless you're only looking for sex and violence that is.

One should never stop striving for clarity of thought and precision of expression.
I would prefer my humanity sullied with the tarnish of science rather than the gloss of religion.

This is an example of where a TERRIBLY named movie hurts it at the box office.
It's production budget was $25 million and was released in December 2005 and has only done $16 million domestic and worldwide, combined.
Yet it was rated 4 stars out of 5 at the site I checked.

Then again, pretty much anyone would have told someone to stay away from 'Snakes on a Plane,' but look what that did!

Yeah, bad title. Haven't seen the movie but heard it is good.
Title would easily describe Jim Thorpe though.

I actually believe it is appropriate: once you watch the movie, the title corresponds to the bottom line of the movie which is closely entertwined with the obsession of the main character.
The final comments of the movie emphasize that very well.

It may be appropriate but it did little to get fannies in the seats. So you've got a fine movie that no one saw because of a crappy, but appropriate, title.
Great.
$16 million domestic and worldwide, combined.

If people judge books by their cover, that is their loss.

You behave as if the sole motive is profit. The movie is about an obsessed man, by an obsessed fan.

Imagine you are the producer of this FANTASTIC film. And you want the investors to at least get their money back that they invested in the film and when your movie makes money then you will be more likely to be trusted the next time you go asking for money for the next film you produce.
Imagine you are the director of this FANTASTIC film and you want as many people to enjoy it as possible.
The more people who see it means the greater the box office revenue.
The producer suffers. The director suffers. Everyone involved with the production is disappointed. The investors are pissed. The general public misses out on a FANTASTIC movie.
All because of a crappy title.
