What would you suggest?
You live more in 5 minutes on a bike like this, going flat-out, than some people in their lifetime

Another vote for SSD.

You can also just get the BBC sessions... that has pretty much all of his mainstream stuff as well as some other gems.

Jimi Hendrix: Woodstock. There's some really great performances on there. I highly recommend Villanova Junction and Izabella.

Also, Axis: Bold As Love has some nice tracks on it including Wait Until Tomorrow, If 6 Was 9, Castles Made Of Sand, and One Rainy Wish. Plus it opens up with the ever-amusing Exp.

Are you looking for the performance, or high quality recordings?

Thank you all for the suggestions!

I got the BBC sessions and South Saturn Delta.

While I was at the store, I got Gong (you), Manfred Mann's Earth Band (best of with Chris Thompson) and FOCUS, live greatest hits.

Blast from the Past.

Thank y'all!

A guy I work with recently gave me a DVD's worth of Hendrix live stuff. I haven't listened to anywhere near the whole disc, but the recordings are surprisingly good. I'll ask him where it was he got the music, I believe it was all downloads and legal at that.

Well what do you know, he just walked by. The sites are www.dimeadozen.org and www.tradersden.org.

He did give me some pretty cool stuff that Hendrix recorded in his apartment. Kind of funny, at one point you can here his phone ringing and him kind of grumbling about it.

Thank you ThinkInsane and Kevin.

But, would that not be protected by the Hendrix family estate(s)?

Well these are live bootlegs. They aren't really taking money away from the Hendrix family. AS you can't buy these.

Nor does Hendrix's family stop them from being distributed like they are.

Now, if someone were to try to sell them... I think there would be a problem.

None of the music on there is commercial.

THAT is where it's at for me as far as the net music scene.

The live bootlegs.

A decade ago people were actually selling them at certain record stores for $30 a pop. And they were always low quality. But supply and demand raised the price.

Now no one is ripping off anyone really.

Some bands even have pits JUST for concert tapers.

Funny part about this is, Metallica was one of the pioneers of such a pit. Back when their Album covers had "Not One MTV hit" stickers on them.

And they were proud of it!
