I can't seem to access www.apple.com at all right now (June 19, 00:17 am EST). It worked 15 minutes ago, but now I get nothing, on both IE 7 and Firefox 1.5 (under Windows Vista).

Is it working for you?

Tried it again:

Server not found

Firefox can't find the server at www.apple.com.

* Check the address for typing errors such as
ww.example.com instead of
www.example.com

* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.

* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

---

Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

Most likely causes:
You are not connected to the Internet.
The website is encountering problems.
There might be a typing error in the address.

What you can try:
To try to fix this problem, click Tools, and then click "Diagnose Connection Problems..."

Retype the address.

Go back to the previous page.

Strange. I rebooted: Works fine on this same MacBook in Safari in OS X. Hmmm...

EDIT:

Rebooted again into Vista, and it's working fine now. Strange bug, but I think it may indeed be a Vista thing.

They don't want anyone using Vista beta to figure out that the "new and upcoming" Vista features are already out on OS X.

I don't think you're looking at a bug per se. I think what you're seeing is your network connection (cable modem etc...) being confused by potentially binding the same IP address to the same MAC address under two different OSes. Once you rebooted it cleared out the bindings. You may want to manually release your IP addresses when you swap out OSes under Bootcamp.

It sounds like a corrupt DNS cache to me. It happens sometimes, and it's typically NOT your computer or software. A byte or two get scrambled and stuck in your cache, and there's no easy or simple way to clear it. (There's a Terminal command to clear your cache, and a Command Prompt command for XP-I don't know if it was carried over to Vista though.) But it looks like your reboot fixed your problem, so all's well and all that.

Here I thought Eug Wanker had found definitive proof that Apple had gone out of business...

Oh well, here's to Vista and it's already legendary abilities!
