Two matches will be played today. Italy must win over the Czech Republic and the U.S. must win over Ghana. It is still possible, but it may not be. If anytihng, you should watch this game because it may be the last we see of the U.S.

See, that's where you've been going wrong. Soccor matches are indeed known for their lack of excitement. Try a soccer match next time and you'll see the difference

Here's a spectator at a soccor match:

And here's a spectator at a soccer match:

Hey, let's not turn this into flamewar ok? You don't like soccer, that's ok but don't push it down other people's throat.

Personally, I'd like to see a video of him tsaring at a painted wall for over 90 minutes. Particularly if someone is watching a soccer match behind him.

Oh yeah, go U.S.A.

And how was I exactly pushing it down others throats. I made my opinion known, just because it may counter your feelings on the game means you should get all upset. Of course I've seen how soccer fans get upset, they riot

Let me show you the title of this thread:

"There's still a chance for the U.S.A. to survive...today at 10AM EST"

Where does that say "share your opinion about soccer sport"?

Grow up.

Welp that's it. Can't say that I think USA deserved to move forward because frankly, they didn't.
And I agree with the ESPN commentator in that the blame lies on Bruce Arena. You put together a team that depends on star forwards, and you play them in a 4-5-1 the whole time. Stupid.

I'm very happy for Ghana though.

talk about flopping...i cant BELIEVE the refs gave ghana that pk!!!!!

U.S. has a good team but a green team, once they master the art of flopping, like the rest of the world, they'll start to play in contention.

Yeah the PK was questionable, and Reyna made a terribly mistake trying to dribble like that in the backfield.

Still. These guys just weren't clicking this time around. And WTH is up with Arena waiting until the 60th minute to sub in Johnson?

I also think football is boring, but I'm not going to rub it in just because hockey and rugby are superior games. No, pointing out that football sucks and that scoring once or twice in an hour and a half of play is boring as hell just isn't what I do... though, not as retarded as basketball. Is NASCAR even a sport? I take it back, NASCAR is the most boring sh*t out there.

Ghana may have just one-upped Italy for a stiff breeze sending them writhing on the field. The only advantage they may have is that apparently, their bones are very brittle yet strangely fast-healing. "OH NO!, I tripped on a rock and broke my femur! Coach! Bring that magic sponge and a stretcher!........ok...better now, only took me 3 minutes of game time."

The U.S. performed well for about 35% of that game and Ghana's diving and delay tactics at the end were shameful. Get up and play, dammit.

Nah, I like giving my opinion being this is the lounge, you might as well deal with it because I'm here

I guess this thread will whither away like the US soccer team. I'm sure it was an exciting gripping match hahahaha

this is the reason im not a year round soccer fan, i think that if you get injured, and the result is a stretcher on the field...that your team play a man short for 5 min, i mean if he's really injured he'd be out for at least that amount of time regardless. i HATE flopping in soccer.

Ghana played much more inspired than the USA. The penalty kick was crap, but think about it this way, PK or not, the USA still didn't get the enough goals.

Congrats to Ghana.

The USA should have played much more aggressive, IMHO.

Sad to see it's over, but I don't think anyone is all that surprised. Oh well, maybe in 2010!

EDIT: Yeah, the PK was 100% bull.

I spoke to my parents yesterday (Cape Town, South Africa) and it is going into winter there now. The temperature will average around 20 degrees celcius (68 fahrenheit). I looked at Berlin's temperature and it's 16 (64) right now, so the temperature should be very comparable to Germany's.

But otherwise, I'll definitely see you in South Africa since I'm going to go. I am pretty sure my parents will still be there, and if they aren't there are still a lot of people I know that will be there, who I can stay with and borrow their car. I grew up in Cape Town, South Africa. I'm excited.

Actually, Germany was at temperatures of between 25 and 30 degrees during the past few days.

It cooled down significantly since the rains yesterday.
