They look fine, but I feel flat-footed in them, which is particularly noticeable if I do anything faster than walk.

I cannot call them Converse All Stars. They must be called Chuck's.
They are the least supportive shoe in existence, but they have been a fav of mine for 30 years. Most absurd color I've had were the glow in the dark Zebra patterned. I was in college and assuredly intoxicated when I bought those!
The man, the myth, the legend, the shoe: Chuck Taylor

my mother is a Chriropodist and she gave me some special inserts for them, which makes them really comfy! I too find Converse bloody painful to wear for extended periods (due to them being flat), these inserts make them amazing.

I hate them. They don't have much traction, support, and they're flat. They were not designed for human feet.

I have been partial to Jack Purcells, too.

You're right, they are pretty uncomfortable. But woman wear heals.

But those actually look sexy. I don't really see how wearing those would improve your sex appeal... if anything it'd be detrimental. They aren't stylish, and it would ruin your foots natural arch leaving you flat footed and unable to walk long distances, run, or dance well.

I think they look pretty cool. I don't think I would ever wear them. Not really my style.

Chuck Taylor's are probably the only shoe that has been in style for so long. Its just the classic of all classics. Just goes to show that simplicity can be extremely elegent and long lasting.

Well Nike did buy Converse, but they haven't changed any of their shoes, especially the Chucks. They wouldn't dare touch those. But I can understand if you are choosing not to buy them because the money would go to Nike.

Yup. We called em just, "All-Stars." Before there were mass marketed running shoes it was tennis shoes (designed for playing tennis but worn by all) or these basketball shoes which the NBA players actually wore (and embraced by all who wanted that panache).
Except that we were too poor to afford these for yours truly. So I didn't get a pair until I was in my late 20's.
It really is an old school chic kinda thing. But I wish I'd known about the inserts thing at the time. It woulda helped A LOT. I still recall the discomfort of the things.

Myth?, check.
Prehistoric?, check.
Converse logo?, M.I.A. which is a pity, it gives a much needed visual balance to the sneakers.
IMO, the adidas campus are way cooler, well, even the stan smith, specially the Goofy edition
Yeah, I love adidas.

Gotta love the Chucks.
Had a pair of red and white SUEDE that I bought new for a dollar. And wore them for almost 20 years. When appropriate, of course.

I once gave thought to owning a pair until they changed styles to be more down wit it, I guess. It's not the same, now. Meh.
How do they feel?
EDIT: Ooops. Seems I was wrong. These look fine, just as I remember them being. Maybe there's a pair in my future!

i cant stand em when people keep em uber clean....blegh!
