Why do they do that? Why not just publish their new web site on the server real time. Thus no down time and no "OMFG" threads.

Still, I like these threads. This is what being a Mac supporter is all about!

Yes the Apple store is down, blah blah, but most interesting is that the 'iPod + iTunes' tab has already been changed to 'music', even though the store is still offline....

Also, is it conincidental that today is the day Intel announce that Woodcrest is available...

Oh, and if you go to www.apple.com/movies, you get a 'Forbidden Access' message....

Yes, that Music tab is interesting. Same in the UK.
www.apple.com/uk shows 'iPod + iTunes'.
www.apple.com/ukstore shows 'Music'

I don't see why this should be Tookinated, if I want to discuss this, then I want to discuss this..., I don't see why someone else should decide this should not be discussed if others are also interested in the topic (which, by the 2 replys, seems to be true)

Tookination = removal of your oversized image because you didn't give an image warning in the thread title.

Pic is too big. Perhaps you still have time to change the title?

In the meantime I will post these stolen GIFs. <-- Note: No apostrophe.

Anyways, I predict that no significant new products will show up on the online store today. It will just be Apple removing the Airport Extreme Base Station and the iSight from the European stores.

Often it's ended up being Remote Desktop 3 or something like that released, so the standard is to ignore the store down, and wait til whatever's new is announced.

From the grey column on the right of the Store page (UK store)

"New to the Store
JBL On Stage II - Black
Ultimate Ears 3 - Black
Knomo case - Black (nano)
Logitech Cordless S530
LaCie 8x DVD±RW + LightScribe
VoIP CyberPhone-W
Pantone eye one LT
Intego Security Barrier X4 - Antispam
Elgato EyeTV 2
Guitar Rig 2"

Is any of this stuff new?

Look after my manor, or I will bum you, literally, to death.

If I click on store coming from say the Apple portion of the site, I get the down message. If I click on the store button AGAIN, it takes me to the store. Weird!

The main change I have just noted is that in all the European stores, as expected, the iSight & Airport Extreme base have both been removed.

It looks like the Apple logo on the Apple tab is slightly darker. This must indicate that Apple is moving away from bright Aqua and making everything darker. Plus, it is a few pixels bigger, and the (U.S.) in the <title> tag is now in parenthesis.

Can somebody confirm that this isn't a fake?

I've still got "iPod + iTunes" in lieu of "Music". And the store is back up for me.

Is that new? I note that images.apple.com/movies/ is where Apple hosts various movies on their site, and it forwards to their Quicktime trailer site.

eg: http://images.apple.com/movies/us/ap...enty-h.ref.mov
