I realize that most non-Americans in this room probably aren't doing anything for Fourth of July, but what are those celebrating the holiday doing? I'm going to be staying at a five bedroom cabin at Lake Tahoe with my girlfriend. It's my first time up to Tahoe, so it should be exciting.

I will be celebrating with about $100 worth of fireworks (purchased from indiana, cause anything that leaves the ground is illegal in KY).

I'll be setting them off on the golf course behind my house

Alcohol might be involved, but only AFTER the explosives are all gone... I don't want to loose any fingers.

If you're going to be in South Lake Tahoe, and like sushi, you have to check out Naked Fish. Best damn sushi around. Get your chef drunk on sake and you're likely to get some freebies too.

The girlfriend and I are probably going to head down to the beach around Santa Cruz/Capitola during the day and have a BBQ at the rents place at night. We drove down to LA last weekend, so I'd like to try and stay off of the road as much as possible this weekend.

Awesome. Santa Cruz was the original plan actually. But the girlfriend's dog couldn't stay in the hotel there. We might still end up at Santa Cruz Fourth of July day.

I'm not a big Sushu fan, but I believe the woman is. I'll tell her about the restaurant. I honestly have no idea where this cabin is. The woman spent a lot of time at it during her childhood though.

Bar-B-Q.(various meats cooked over an open fire) is the traditional foods.
Pork ribs, ground beef patties(hamburgers) frankfurters(hot dogs)
Apple pie for dessert.

I'll be assisting in a local airport appreciation day and 4th celebration.
I'll be a Young Eaglesâ„¢ pilot.(I'll give youngsters a ride in airplanes)

Resting. I'll need it-I have a major test on the 3rd. But I'll probably be doing the hot dogs and chips thing for supper, and then, as Railroader will be doing, calming freaked out dogs. Fireworks are illegal in the city limits of San Antonio, and things are dry enough that I expect an explicit ban even in the county, but folks around us will no doubt be trying to blow off their hands and their neighbors' roofs, as always.

I'm going to wear red, white, and blue, adorn myself with american flag pins, eat apple pie, watch baseball during a fireworks show while holding a sparkler while singing along to the national anthem, right after I save a bald eagle from its near death.

A friend of my wife's is getting married on Saturday, so I get to go watch strangers exchange vows. Hopefully it's not a long ceremony. And damn if we're leaving before the free beer.

After that, we'll drive from our house around Bozeman down to Red Lodge, Montana to hang out on my family's land on the river for the weekend.

We'll have some nice BBQ, hamburgers, etc. as well as eating at our favorite restaurant.

On Tuesday (actual holiday), we'll drive over the newly renovated Beartooth Highway, through Cooke City and into Yellowstone National Park. We'll drive through the park and come out probably in Gardiner, Montana, drive home through the Paradise Valley and Livingston. Though we might decide to pop out around West Yellowstone and come home that way.

It's great that we live so close to such beautiful scenery...

The night of the 4th, we'll be treated to a free fireworks show sitting in our back yard. Thanks neighbors!

Well, i usually include the "Three B's" which are absolutely essential for any party.

BBbQ steak, ribs, frankfurters, chicken wings, smoked salmon, and veggie kabobs (for the healthy-minded ). (the extra 'b' is for BYOBBB)..... (the extra 'B' in that is a typo)

BEER.... lots of BEER. Why? because... "BEER IS GOOD (and stuff)"

Babes!!! HOO-HAH!

.............And then of course there's the fireworks....

Don't bully me, I got an Uzi... HOO-HAH!

Bah. I have to go back to work on July 4.

July 1 is our day, and we are getting Monday, July 3 off. I almost was going to book a trip to Las Vegas for the long weekend, but then remembered the whole Celine thing and booked a ticket to Halifax instead.

Oh yeah, we're going to a Fireworks Festival July 19th near Bay City, MI. Far more extensive and progressive fireworks designs than you'd normally see. And for a few hours too.

The friend's house were wathcing them from basically has them going off directly over our heads. The bitch of it is that you have to keep your drink covered the entire time or else shrapnel will fall in your cup.

YOU did squat. Like right now you're squatting. Hope the newspaper doesn't scratch when you wipe.

Oh yeah...where did Mexico land on the beach? I forget.

Hitler wanted them to attack the U.S. from the south but Mexico was afraid they would lose what was left of their country.

Why are we talking about Mexico? Can't you follow a simple conversation?

Are you going to start making racist statements again soon?

I'll be working the entire weekend and holiday. Gotta love working in IT in a normally 24/7 operation. We can only do big maintenance on holidays since production isn't running.

I'm also not sure how Mexico became a topic here, but since it has it gives me a good excuse to share with you guys some killer riddles I've been working on...

Q: What do you call somebody who hails from Mexico?

A: A Mexican

Q: What do you call a canned good that is from Mexico?

A: A Mexi-can

Q: What do you call a Mexican who is very agreeable with his boss?

A: A Mexi-can do

I don't know what I'm doing for July 4 yet, but hopefully it will include writing some more killer riddles!

Freedom doesn't mean everyone must be intelligent and truly patriotic, but rather that they have the option NOT to be. That means it's up to the rest of us to take care of those who chose not to be responsible, but again, that's part of the deal.

"I'm going to blow **** up."

Actually I'm not, but I used to do this every year as a child. Now the terrorists have ruined this otherwise patriotic activity (or at least the above statement). :/
