Flank Steak
Well, I started a little early this year, but I thought I would pass around my 4th of July BBQ picture. I was under the impression I would be cooking up some burgers and hot dogs, but the GF ended up picking up a flank steak and marinading it in a mesquite sauce. Soooo good... My crap $15 grill wouldn't do it justice so I ran out and picked up a $60 Weber Grill and some charcoal [none of that sissy propane!]
Good stuff... please feel free to post your BBQ pictures. I'll be attending at least a few more BBQs this weekend... so more photos to come. I'm also having a post 4th BBQ at my place next weekend.

Flank steak is not tender enough for me. Give me something from further away from the feet. Ribeye, tenderloin, etc.
I'll probably end up grilling some steaks this weekend. On my PROPANE grill.
(BTW, I actually prefer charcoal for some reasons. The first is playing with a chimney to get it hot. The second is it gets good and hot. Of course I'm talking about real charcoal, not that lighter-fluid infused crap.)

I agree regarding the meat... it wasn't my first choice... but much better than a hot dog or regular old hamburger. Also, sometimes I don't mind a tougher piece of meat.
Regarding propane... I'm really not against it [not much anyway]... I just like charcoal (with a little hickory thrown in). But charcoal is a pain in the but at times. You have to plan ahead, and there is also a much bigger clean up. I've found the fighter-fluid infused stuff is easier, but transfers a fuel taste to the meat... not good.
Can't wait for this weekend!

I'm off to another steak dinner, but not a BBQ... I'm going to destroy my heart this 4th. I'm not a big red meat eater... but this is the one time of the year I cut loose.

I bought 8 pounds of pork baby back ribs.
I'll smoke them all day Monday and finish the off over charcoal the 4th when I get home.
I am the master of BBQ ribs.
