I've seen other ones by the same company with more presentable looking people. This may be shallow and all but do you think that image will encourage someone to click it?

You you venting your anger towards me at them and made hateful remarks about how they were lebso cows or something.
Those woman are also performance artists and famous DJ's. They were put on the cover because of that not because of their looks. Heck, somebody actually puts Moby on covers.
This is the cover Starman is talking about :

No, it wasn't. The woman was on her back somehow. Where's the original thread?
Regardless, the point is that you gave me sh*t because I thought the woman was unattractive. Now TWICE this month you post about how unattractive you think people are.

Um, it is not about fancy. It is about marketing and photo selection. Any art director or photographer that thinks using a pic of a guy with this face squished up, eyes closed and his arms in the air but cut off is on crack. We'll put the uni-brow thing aside.

Right, ignoring the design side of thing because your original words were "presentable looking people" and not "better ad design"...
The ad is simple in its message: Normal, ugly people can get the jobs they want too.
And it works. Put someone gorgeous in the ad and it becomes slightly intimidating (on a subconscious level) to a lot of people.

What's wrong with the way the guy looks? There is no law that says you can only advertise with beautiful people. The ad works well in the way Doofy described.

Dice is a well known firm that helps people get jobs. I work on PeopleSoft and if I was looking, I'd be posting my resume. I've heard good things about them.

I think Apple should have more average-looking people in their ads. Possibly hire the walmart model agency.

I disagree. Really strongly.
I'm not really into super-skinny girls, but that doesn't necessarily mean bigger = better. Take Rachel Weisz — ridiculously hot, but she has a fairly normal body type.

I didn't say "bigger=better" I just said those two are not that big. They are healthy, normal, attractive women.
Seriously, why does a girl's ribs have to show for some of you to find her attractive? I don't find the crack addict look all that hot.

So a girl on a cover of a mag in a provocative pose with sparkly nipple shields is somehow deeper and more beautiful than a skinny girl like Keira Knightly?

It's a lifestyle choice. I like counting ribs when there's nothing on the TV.

Really, I don't like the ad. It's not so much the ugliness of the dude that bugs me, its the fact that its cropped poorly (IMO) and its just not inviting. It looks almost like the photo was taken for a different ad but re-cropped to fit this one. But you're right, OP, the dude is ugly and that does make it less inviting. But if I'm looking for a tech job (ie, if I was part of the target populous of the ad), the line "search 85,000 high quality tech jobs" is what's got more of my attention than the pic, the quote, or the dude.

THANK YOU! Damn its good to find someone who sees it the way I do. I mean, it's really unfair. Skinny chicks get a bad rap just because many people find fat chicks less attractive. Fat girls constantly b!tch about how they didn't choose to be fat, people should appreciate them for who they are instead of dismissing them as ugly. Well I think it's about time that THEY stopped dismissing girls who happen to be pretty as shallow slutty whores. (Who did not chose to be pretty any more than the fat girl chose to be fat).
I'm all for people not being shallow, (I mean, I won't go near a girl who's a real b!tch, even if she was the prettiest girl I ever laid eyes on) but a sweeping generalization in one direction is just as bad as the same in another direction.
I would even dare to make the case that the generalizations against skinny girls is worse than those against fat ones--fat girls are meerly branded unattractive or that they eat too much, nothing about character; just physical attributes or lifestyle decisions. Skinny girls are branded as whores and shallow and whatnot. That is an attack on someone's character, not just their body or lifestyle. And I think that is much worse.

I don't think there is anything majority wrong with them. Starman is the one that went apeshit over them in the link he posted a year ago.
I did photoshop them quite a bit though.
Either way they are lesbians so don't think about it too much
