I didn't even know that. I just renamed my Thunderbird shorcut to "www.microsoft.com" and sure enough, it loaded Thunderbird.
Thankfully I've run myself the habit of typing int http:// before I ever do anything. I'm also using Firefox on my work PC, which isn't affected by it.

Once I had a PC and I installed AOL on it (oops). Then I noticed whenever I would type msn.com into IE, AOL would launch. Lame,irritating trick
