Make a lot of money? Pocket change? Have an eBay Store?
I just started listing things for sale and I kinda think it's fun.
Do tell.

I sold a lot of stuff on ebay. I got rid of a lot of stuff that I had in storage. Now I don't have to pay storage and I got pretty good money for the stuff.

Nope, I do not sell on eBay. I don't buy either. If I want to get rid of something, I prefer to deal with local markets. In terms of buying, there has never been anything too obscure that I was not able to find elsewhere.

I tend to hang onto everything until it's really dead, then give it away to someone who I think might be able to bring it back to life and find it useful.
But I know this bloke who earns a living off eBay. He's like Del Trotter - he'll buy and sell just about anything if there's a quid in it. His house is real interesting 'coz it's filled with all kinds of crap all the time.

I also know a guy whose house is full of things that he buys on the cheap, and resells on ebay. I find it fascinating.

No. I kind of have this idea that eBay is populated entirely by scam artists.

I listed something at 7 dollars a few days ago.. it's at 16 right now. I'm excited. And my paypal acct is showing that I've not encountered any scam artists yet. And I'm not one myself. And occasionally, I start sentences with "And".

I've sold a bunch of stuff on eBay (mostly gadgets and peripherals, but also some clothing). So far 99% of the deals went smooth (I even managed to sell my old G4 to somebody in Greece) and customers have been really nice.
This one friend of mine makes tons of cash selling role-playing cards (D&D, MtG etc.), another girl I used to know bought and sold vintage clothing and sneakers…they have something like 5000 transactions each.
It's fun, but I don't think I'd want to deal with it 'full-time'

I'm selling my PowerBook G4 1.67 GHz right now. The bidding ends in less than 24 hours.

Let me know how much you get for that and whether the buyer actually pays and everything. I want to sell my PB too and I'm curious.

Will do.
My iBook sold easily last year. The buyer paid quickly and I sent quickly. Smoothest auction ever. The only problem is that he didn't leave feedback...the jerk...

You could end up finally having the money to buy a Ferrari.
But that's highly unlikely.

is that all you think about? (don't answer that, I don't like my threads to go off-topic, thanks!)
My next round of items will be some some old records I've got laying around. I've got an Elvis "picture disc" that's still sealed. It's getting some good coin on eBay, and they're not sealed. Thanks Elvis! (I should thank the guy I got the record from, but he was dead before I got it from him. I was asked to help move a couch out of this lady's place, and she paid me with the guy's old radio dj setup)

I buy and sell old Mac stuff on eBay, or the LEM Swap list ( http://groups.google.com/group/lemswap) or here or AppleFritter.com/forum
It makes me a little bit of pocketchange.
Example:
Found a normal looking 7300/200 for $.25. I saw it had a 10/100 PCI NIC that I wanted, so I bought it. Took it home and cracked it open to find a G3/400MHz upgrade card, and every friggin slot on that computer full. Maxed VRAM, cache, and 240MB of RAM. I sold the processor for $29 and the guy that bought it sent me an original 180MHz processor back. I sold a pair of 64MB chips from it for $18. So I made $47 off of it and I still have a working computer.

3 quid is roughly $5.50 U.S. Still not bad. I got a profile beige G3 from work for free. Saved it from the computer recycler. Every now and then we get old Macs in there, so I snag them.

What kind of feedback did you leave for that one?
