I knew this guy who was totally OCD over all things ashley olsen twins. He'd buy anything with their names on it, and collect everything possible to do with them. It was.... kinda scary really. Is it healthy to be completely obessive over someone you've never met, or met a few times? Usually I see this a sign of a mental imbalance, ie, they hate their own life, or they don't have any thoughts of their own, just merely attempting to 'bring themselves' up in someone else's glory... however... does anyone actually think they're cool because they ocd about some famous person?

Discuss.

This is a bit much.

But having an interest in someone that might help you and go for it is probably not the same.

I think when the person obsessed with a celibraty and they take on another persona and probably would become violent, that is not good at all.

People who obsess over celebrities are usually obsessing of the characters they play, and if they constantly compare real-life acquantainces to these perfect characters who don't actually exist, they will end up resenting almost everyone for not being so perfect. That can't be healthy.

It's better than obsessing over people you'd have any possible contact with.
Consider these posts as my way of introducing you to yourself.

We should ask this very question about you and your constant desire to return to the MaccNN forums?

"Why do you get so obsessed about people who don't give a **** about you?"

are we sure he's rob? hmm

anyway yeah that is definately unhealthy... admiring someone's achievements and using that as motivation for yourself is one thing--obesessing is something entirely different.

He's Rob.

And you know, there are a lot of things people obsess over. Some people know a lot of stuff about plants or insects, some people think about celebrities all the time. In the end, I think people get satisfaction out of knowing trivia.

This seems to have a rather self-evident answer, but I better point it out anyways...

Translation: is it healthy to have OCD? Clearly not.

Next question: is it healthy to starve yourself? hoard garbage? carve into your own skin?

I have people who care here. Just not internet dorks trying to flaunt their epenis by openly bashing someone the mods do nothing about. That'd be me, the one you're bashing, and that'd be you, trying to make your e-penis big.

I have so much history here, and I know so many people. Some of them I like, and vice versa. Just not you. So **** off, whoever you are. You're nothing.

So ultimately, I bring up Rickey, aka Man of steal and his ****ing SCARY psychopathic obession about some random baseball player. Do you think he had gay sex at a baseball clinic with him when he was 10? Or what? Because I don't understand it at all, and why this guy isn't in an insane asylum. Why hasn't rickey pressed a judge to give him a restraining order? Because I'm sure the dude on MacNN would collect that dude's fecal material if hte opportunity arose. He has a ****ing shrine in his house. It's sick and unhealthy.

"Mods do nothing about"? Dude, I seem to remember you getting banned on numerous occasions...and why the hell are you attacking Rickey? Okay, so we agree that obsessing over someone is not healthy. But assuming he is even as obsessed as you make him out to be, the next question is, is he harming anyone? I don't see how. Unless the image of the dude swinging his bat in the 50x200 pixel area causes you unbearable pain, I don't see why you're having a cow over this. Just let the guy be.

He just always mentions him in irrelevant threads. It's creepy. That's all.

As for me, yes the mods do nothing about. You are allowed to threaten me, call me names, etc and the mods will do nothing to you.

Why are you obsessed with coming to MacNN? People who care? Like, they care about you? How special!

(I truly believe this thread to be ironic. You need help. I see you sticking your tongue out like MJ in a fervor, as you freakishly attempt to overcome your next banning. )

I'm not obsessed. I just come here hwen I get bored. Sometimes I don't come for a few months if I have stuff to do. I certainly don't have a shrine like GoRickey has dedicated to macnn.

I would think the first time was for a reason. The subsequent times I would imagine would have been for ban evasion.

It's not good to obsess over anything. It's perfectly fine to have a hobby or interests... and spend money/time/energy on those hobbies or interests... but when it becomes debilitating... that's when you have a problem.

I think people throw around OCD way too much.

About 1/100th as creepy as a person that doesn't understand being banned from a forum.

It's like an ex-girlfriend that keeps showing up at your apartment in the middle of the night...

SERIOUSLY

You do realize that it's not "his stupid opinion." It's the consensus of this forum for the most part.

If you only posted in threads you started, that would be different. But you crap in and gayify and start stupid arguments in nearly every thread you join.

BTW, most of the forum doesn't want me gone. So no.

I find it hilarious that YOU of all people called out another MacNNer for being creepy.

I don't have a shrine about someone at my house. How am I creepy? I post tons of random **** on here, just like anybody else.

I also like Rob... ...in a "poke a stick at the little yappy dog" kind of way.

(* not really, just messin' with ya )

Back on topic. Jessica Biel. Yum. How does one go about building one of these shrine thingies again?
