Good old .Mac and its bandwidth limits. Definitely worth $99 a year.

Definitely a good buy, I agree.
I've been a .mac user now for a while and I've been pretty pleased. Too bad about the bandwidth restriction though.

It's been slashdotted... Most services would have closed it down.

It's not .mac I'm guessing... but more of a bandwidth restriction (my non .mac service would have done the same thing).

He was using sarcasm. Most people around here don't like .mac.

I know, and while my response was also intended to be a bit sarcastic, its also a true opinion on how I feel about .mac.

Well, I might have actually kept it (despite the high cost), if it had actually stayed up 24/7. But it didn't. .Mac syncing was not very consistent.

So it is more unreliable than a rip off then?
Personally I never had a reliability problem, I just thought it was highly overpriced and .Mac mail online was horrible as it had no spam filtering.

a little of both
I don't want this thread to get into a .mac sux debate. suffice to say I find value in the .mac offerings and I've been pleased with it
Peace

Well, it's still expensive, and it's unreliable.
ie. If it was very cheap, I might have kept it. Or if it was at its current price with near-perfect reliability, I also might have kept it.

I got like 35 years of Dreamhost for $99 bucks, and it's like 60 Terabytes : \
or somethin' like that.
