Channel 4 is to bring mass public masturbation to the small screen

In what must surely be one of the summer's more bizarre events, hundreds of people are expected to gather in a hall in central London on August 5 to pleasure themselves in aid of charity.

In truth, I agree. Despite the junk on many US channels, in some ways US TV still remains excessively prudish. ie. Lots of sex and violence, but they refuse to air a swear word or a show a boobie. (I always wonder how many takes they have to do to get a good take of a sex scene without a boobie.) It's quite different in Canada, and it seems much more so in the UK (on Channel 4).

BTW, one movie I saw a few years ago here in Toronto on TV had "motherfscker" in the dialogue. To clean it up they blanked out the "mother".

Radio Times says:

Show about burlesque dancers last Monday (Five).
Show about Britain's sexual fantasies last Wednesday (Five).

Aside from those two shows, Five is looking pretty clean - just the usual CSI/Law/House and "World's Wildest Traffic Cone Attacks" stuff.
