Its come to my attention that when I will be attending college, I'll need a computer. Pretty obvious.

I'll be starting college next semester, and am currently working two full time jobs to pay for my tuition.
If I'm really careful and lucky, I'll be able to cover all expenses (in terms of room and board). But there is no way that I'll be able to afford a computer - which I will desperately need -.

Right now I'm using an old imac g3 running OS 9... there's no way I can keep using this when i go off to college.

So with the help of a friend I've set up a nice little website, in which anyone can help me out
The website is:

http://IWantAMacBook.com/

So far I've had a few people help me out (its only opened today), and I hope it will be successfull!
My initial goal of the large macbook pro might be a bit too farfetched, but If you guys help me out, and link to me in your blogs, websites, or forums, I'm sure its possible

So, tell me what you think, and do consider helping a mac user out

This sort of thing has always baffled me. Why in the hell would I give money to a total stranger so that he/she can buy something for him/herself? I can see giving money to charities, or to help support your political party, or whatever. But giving some random person cash over the Internet, not knowing if that person will actually use the money for what they are saying they are going to use it for is beyond me.

You'd be better off saving that $5 or whatever and giving it to the drunken bum on the corner. Sure he'll use it for more booze, but at least you know exactly where your money is going.

To the OP, so you're working 2 jobs and can't afford a Mac? Well then buy a PC. Begging for money over the Internet is about as pathetic as it gets.

Sorry, but ME FIRST. And since I haven't scraped together the pennies I'll need for MY Mac, I don't have any to spare for you.

I should start a site like this. I always wonder who on earth has the money to throw at these things? If anyone wants to buy me a new MacBook I'll give you my older PowerBook

If you're able to get through school without taking out any student loans good for you. Then you can afford to take out a relatively tiny loan to pay for the luxury computer you want.

He really should've given the G4 to me, I could have given him my old G3 that doesn't work anymore to blow up.

Wouldn't the money used to register the website help towards a new mac? Duh.

This reminds me of Screech's web site plea for help in saving his house, just because his career is shot and he wants to keep his mansion. Nastee.

What a f'cking scam. Remember that guy Stefan from MakeMeSwitch.blogspot.com?

Well go to that URL and you will see that the bastard closed down his site as soon as he got his Mac from donations from stupid people who donate to strangers on the internet.
