Here's my story.. If its in the wrong forum, or not allowed here, just remove it. I'd still like to stay a member of these great forums..
Its come to my attention that when I will be attending college, I'll need a computer. Pretty obvious.
I'll be starting college next semester, and am currently working two full time jobs to pay for my tuition.
If I'm really careful and lucky, I'll be able to cover all expenses (in terms of room and board). But there is no way that I'll be able to afford a computer - which I will desperately need -.
Right now I'm using an old imac g3 running OS 9... there's no way I can keep using this when i go off to college.
So with the help of a friend I've set up a nice little website, in which anyone can help me out
The website is:
http://IWantAMacBook.com/
So far I've had a few people help me out (its only opened today), and I hope it will be successfull!
My initial goal of the large macbook pro might be a bit too farfetched, but If you guys help me out, and link to me in your blogs, websites, or forums, I'm sure its possible
So, tell me what you think, and do consider helping a mac user out

Post it once, maybe you're just a lame, stupid kid hoping to cash in on a couple of adults feeling sorry for you.
Post it TWICE in the same forum, you're a ****ing spammer out to make money.
**** off.
P.S.: an old iMac G3 running OS 9 is a hell of a word processing machine. Did you know it will run OS X 10.4 quite nicely if it's a slot-loading model with Firewire? Idiot.

what are you going into for college? Unless it's something super technical a G3 is all you really need.

I used an iMac G3 through almost all of college and it served my school stuff fine. If you want something more, you're looking at gaming capability, etc. Take out a loan if you're so desperate for one and don't ask for charity from strangers when there are people out there who are FAAAR worse off than you are.

I'm closing this thread-as a learning tool for all.
Begging for help without pointing out what you've done legitimately to get assistance is a Bad ThingĀ®. There are LOTS of ways to get a computer for school-bugging other users for cash isn't a good one.
