Not .Mac is only one way to support Apple. Most of us support Apple by buying their computers.

Uh, Apple is a profit-making company. Why you view them as needing altruism on their customers' part is beyond me.

Maybe wait till after WWDC to see if there's any new .mac features in 10.5 Leopard that you might will like? I know that's wishful thought but still just in case

If you only use .Mac for email, you should've switched a long time ago.

I agree. The best way to support Apple is not to buy a service or product you don't like. In my opinion, .mac is a joke and not worth the money at all.

Zeeb, I totally agree with you. .Mac is like the Airport Base Station, it is just around so that apple can say they have it.

Rumors have been going around that .mac will be going free again. I'm not sure I'd pay for a renewal right now...

If .mac was $20/yr, then I would definitely get it. I would pay up to $40/yr. If .Mac supports PHP and MySQL, then I would pay their current prices.

I think .Mac's easy of use and syncing abilities make it a worthwhile product for lots of people.

I have an account, but I don't really use it, because I don't trust Google with my e-mail. I keep it for GTalk (though I find that I haven't been using that much either).

I am also debating dropping .mac. My wife uses iWeb to keep our family updated and I use backup to do my settings/address book, etc. but I can easily setup an offsite backup to my work. I hope Apple comes out with a few more reasons for me to keep .mac as I have had the email address for many years now but think it is too much $$ for what you get.
