OK, well, it could be tomorrow. But it could also not be fore another 10,000 years.
Anyway, relatively speaking, it looks like there's a pretty close star out there ready to go boom, in the largest explosions our universe has to offer outside the original.
Keep your eyes pealed, the sky could be a LOT brighter than usual in the next few years.
I hope! The last observed super nova was in 1572 by my astronomical hero, Tycho Brahe. Yes, the one with the bladder and the drunk donkey.
