I'm becoming a bit frustrated.
I have spent the last two days (yes, really) trying to download some music from Mora.jp. I've been having no luck.
First, the service checks to make sure your IP is in Japan, and if it is not, denies you access. My IP is not. Two hours later, I have an SSH tunnel through a server I have in Tokyo, and the site finally lets me in.
I create an account. No problem.
Then I try and buy a song. I fill in my credit card info. It doesn't even ask for a billing address, so I think I am in luck.
But no. Those idiots at Visa/MasterCard made it so you could tell what country your card was issued in just from the number. And, the annoying people at Mora.jp decided to use this little feature to block people out, as if the IP verification thing wasn't enough. (iTunes Japan does the same thing, but doesn't have the IP verification in place.)

I get all depressed. But then I realize that Mora.jp accepts other payment methods, including one called WebMoney. WebMoney's site indicates that I can fill my WebMoney account with a Visa or MasterCard (or prepaid cards bought at convenience stores). So I sign up. Verify my e-mail address. Log in. Go to add my credit card to the account. It takes the card number and tells me I will be redirected to the next page to "confirm some additional information" in a few seconds. I get all excited.
But now it wants me to put in a billing address for the credit card. The only problem? The billing address happens to be in the good ol' US of A, and the form has no way to input that. Foiled again.
The bottom line: Can someone in Japan run down to their local
konbini and grab me a low-value prepaid WebMoney card (like, 2000JPY or so) and e-mail me a scan of it (so I can input the info)? I'll PayPal you the cash and a bit extra for your trouble. Drop me a PM if you're interested.
