So, there's this guy working on the new office suite down the hall from us; some other company is moving in. He's wearing a shirt that says "YANKEES SUCK" on the front. Ok, that's fine. However, on the back it has a big 2 and "Jeter Swallows" above it, like the name of the player. Now, that's gotta be wrong on a lot of levels, don't you think?

That's inappropriate for work just based on the sexual content.

Edit; And I'm no prude.

While 100% inappropriate and unprofessional, I would guess it would fall under satire?

Bad taste, but funny! I would not wear a shirt like that, personally, but people get offended about all sorts of things.:

How about this one?

Obvious humor is generally not libelous. It is also a true statement, though not the way most people would take it.

Bad taste in the extreme, and certainly not appropriate for work, even in a very relaxed environment. But not libelous. Public figures give up a certain amount of protection against such statements (which are obviously not assertions of actual truth) because of their public status, while a private citizen, (most of us) COULD bring action because such assertions would not be so obviously of a jesting nature.

Your coworker needs to start thinking more professionally.

He's not my coworker. I said that he works for a different company moving in down the hall.

Missed that-sorry. But the observation is still valid. He's extremely unprofessional to come to work (wherever he works) with such a shirt.

Back in my college days we use to wear shirts that said "Muck Fichigan" and "Ann Arbor is a whore." Ahhhh... college.... how I miss thee.

http://chowdaheadz.com/tshirts.html

I also enjoy "Brokeback Jeter" and "Jeter drinks wine coolers". I wish they had more A-rod shirts like this. Jeter is a great player.

But I wouldn't wear these to work.
