Howdy,
So, I want to put up a photo album site, but the problem is that all the software to do it just sucks (yes, iPhoto, I'm looking at you). Picasa needs an "invite" (oooh, I feel special). So, what I want to know is if there are any good photo album sites out there that you can point to, and then maybe I can work backwards and figure out which software the good ones use. Hell, maybe they do it by hand, I don't know, but I'd rather see a good site and use what they use than use iPhoto (bleh).

I love Flickr.
There are even free upload tools to export from iPhoto and everything.

I dont have a Flickr account, but looking at other people albums on there is super easy. So I recommend it from a viewers standpoint.

Ok, here's the problem I have with sites like flikr - couldn't they at some point claim ownership of the pictures?
EDIT: right here:
"Yahoo! does not claim ownership of Content you submit or make available for inclusion on the Service. However, with respect to Content you submit or make available for inclusion on publicly accessible areas of the Service, you grant Yahoo! the following worldwide, royalty-free and non-exclusive license(s), as applicable:
With respect to Content you submit or make available for inclusion on publicly accessible areas of Yahoo! Groups, the license to use, distribute, reproduce, modify, adapt, publicly perform and publicly display such Content on the Service solely for the purposes of providing and promoting the specific Yahoo! Group to which such Content was submitted or made available. This license exists only for as long as you elect to continue to include such Content on the Service and will terminate at the time you remove or Yahoo! removes such Content from the Service."
f--k that. I don't want my pictures being used to promote Yahoo.

I concur. Get yourself a domain for $12 or less and pay $4/month hosting. Then get iPhotoToGallery and upload straight out of iPhoto. It's perfect.
