Ok, forgive my excitement but I made these and they turned out really well. (and it's not often I do these little projects)
First there's the 33" x 27" zabuton. Here it is without it's clothes on. It's plain cotton muslin filled with poly batting surrounded by cotton batting. (I wanted all cotton batting but that stuff is way too expensive for me. So I compromised)
Here it is all dressed up. This material I got for $2 a yard. It's an awesome pattern. (even for paisley)
Here is the underside of the removable cover.
Here is the cushion with my homemade seiza bench. It is red oak with a homemade cushioned cover. (I have yet to put the finish on the wood)
The bench is foldable. (I don't like the sloppy hinges, but I can change that later)
Here is the underside of the bench showing how the cover attaches.
In all I think I have about $25 in the zabuton, and about the same in the bench.
Well, whadda ya think? Even if you aren't interested, lie to me anyway…I'm fragile…
