Very cool... I was waiting for the scary image, but it was nice to see that you didn't go down that road.

Again, very cool.

When I would move my eyes back to the dot it would fade back to color…weird.

I wonder what filter or channel settings are used... It would be cool to be able to create your own!

That's a really interesting illusion. I guess it has something to do with how we perceive contrast?

I'm pretty sure it's just a classic afterimage effect, like with the flag below. Just fancier. I suppose you could do it by a kind of inversion in which black becomes white, red becomes green, and blue becomes yellow (and vice versa). It would be cool to create a filter or something to create your own.

I've see this done before (except it was color inversion, not b&w -> color). Way cool

Loved it! I'm going to forward it to my dad. He gets creeped out by stuff like that. He's the type that can't stand to watch someone play Madden on PS2 because the players are too lifelike and it gives him the "heebie jeebies."

Anyways, back to topic...
That is one of the coolest I've seen. I was expecting the scary zombie to pop in too, but was pleasantly surprised.

The effect is just like the flag except they are using the vision persistence to apply color to a B&W image. Your eyes provide the color and the image the details.

It's a lot like the way color is added to an old fashioned B&W TV signal, except your eyes are providing the color information. Neat.

Yes, the picture switches when you mouse over it. The point is, the picture that it switches to is black-and-white, but if you have stared for a little while, it will appear to be in color until you move your eyes.
