Definitely ugly. It looks like something you would buy from Staples in 2001.

The puck mouse was a failure, but ergonomically, it was really good. Because you had to maneuver it with only your fingers, it almost forced you to hold your wrists straight to use it.
But I must admit, it was weird to use, and I am glad it is no longer made.

Puck mouse sucked for anyone with big hands.
Though oddly the Japanese liked it...

I have big hands, and I never had a problem with it.
Thing is, there are basically two types of mouse users:
The puck mouse sucked for anyone who rests his hand on the mouse and then uses his whole arm to move it, rather than resting the wrist on the desk and using just the fingers to push the mouse around.

So true. The puck wasn't that bad, I still have two, but currently use the USB Mouse because it reminds me the coolest Apple mouse ever…

the puck mouse was good for children. I swap out my newish white mouse and use the puck when the kid is playing games. With the white mouse he's continually clicking.

Eh. I have big hands, rest my wrist on the desk and don't like the puck mouse.

It's no uglier than the original keyboard and mouse. Did you hate the color then?
My Mighty Mouse is giving me carpal tunnel.

Sorry, the puck mouse was AWFUL. If you just reached over and grabbed it, it's shape was so symmetrical that it was impossible to figure out how it was oriented, so you constantly had to either shake it around, and hten adjust your grip, or look athe mouse to make sure the orientation was right.
I got one with my lime 1st gen iMac. I then got a contour designs unimouse, took my puck mouse outside, and drove over it with my car. I then stomped on it, and left it's pieces outside to rot. I should have pissed on it too, in retrospect.

or, you could have gotten one of those little $5 adaptors that made the puck more regularly shaped.

Or just gotten one of the Rev 2 puck mice with the indentation on the button so you could EASILY tell which was was up.

I always wondered why I liked it! My hands are quite large, and I do rest my wrist on the desk. I never got why people always hated the puck mouse, but now I see how some could have.

Two problems: Still only one button, still trying to make due with a horrible, horrible design.

I agree with the one button (and no scroll wheel) but I still don't think it was a horrible design for how I and (apparently few) others use a mouse.
