Gay storks make good parents
Four gay storks have proved they are as capable of raising a family as their heterosexual counterparts.
Staff at the zoo in Overloon, near Eindhoven, were unsure if the gay and lesbian storks would still have the same natural urge to raise offspring.
But after giving one egg to a pair of gay males to sit on, and another two eggs to a pair of lesbian storks, they say the gay storks took to parenthood straight away.
Zoo spokeswoman Esther Jansen said all three chicks had hatched successfully: "The gay storks look after the eggs and the chicks just as well as our heterosexual birds."

It was the only thing the zoo keepers could do after the storks started wearing rainbows and having parades around the zoo. At least now they keep quiet.

I just want to have something that makes me laugh or scratch my head or say 'wow.'
Sex, marriage, homosexuality, NASA, fast cars/cops, funny cops, Art Bell, food oddity, the paranormal, a freebie, America's sexual repression. There's a little something for everyone.
Thanks.

Agreed. I made a blog entry recently HERE about an article a friend from school sent me. It was an interview with some woman who's job is essentially deciding what is ethical based on... well no real standards... fun job. Anyway, her whole agenda was to say that kids do best when they have a mother and a father, and that those roles are important etc. Which sure it's true. So gay people shouldn't get married because they can't raise kids as well as a straight couple. It was like... what? Her burden of proof? She talked to the kids of some gay couples, and they were a bit emo. The worst thing was that the guy who sent it to me thought it was a good article.

Isn't that a stereotype? Straight people go out late at nite and on the weekend, too. Or are the pople in the clubs at nite ONLY Gays?

You'll be like nannies. You can raise kids but you'll have no legal marital rights and no direct reproduction of the children youze raise.

Ah, but you are thinking locally, not homosfearically. You HAVE to know the real fears behind gay marriage are not the act itself and there's more to it than religion.
And no one is stopping you from screwing who you wish or having a mono loving relationship with them as long as they are legal.
You just can't be in a legally sanctioned marriage.

Actually the article only really says that the gay storks do an OK job. It doesn't say it about the lesbian ones. Just goes to show that lesbians are inferior to gay men. Actually know what's kinda funny? For all the LGBT stuff I read... it always seems that gay men and lesbians have this kinda... rivalry... I dono maybe I'm reading into it wrong or something.
And Turtle, I'm not really stepping out of the closet. The only people who don't know about me are most of the people at school. Other than that it's pretty common knowledge most places I go. And even school I wouldn't be surprised if someone finds out before the year is out and then people make a big deal etc. Haha, who knows maybe some people will try and get me kicked out of Res haha.

Actually I made an april fools entry on my blog saying I renounced Christianity. The first time I went and saw the family's new counsellor he'd apparently read it and wondered if I was serious... I was like... dude you're dumb. Nah he's a nice guy though he's a lil wonky sometimes. He thinks I should start dating my friend Danielle... apparently the whole gay thing doesn't make sense to him.
Anyway, nah I imagine the only major twist that might happen is if I did end up in a relationship with another guy. Which honestly probably wouldn't happen this year because I have another year of school left. After that, I'm pretty sure it'd probably happen. Theologically I'm still a lil shaky, but I can't say I can honestly say I believe that a gay monogamous relationship is a bad thing. Course if I did decided to have sex it'd be within marriage (thankfully up in Canada we have that thing now).
Probably after this year I'll begin saving up money so I can move out to BC and plant a Church on Victoria Island with some friends. No idea what sorta job I'll get out there to pay rent and what not while I'm out there, but we'll see what I can come up with .

Dude, from a theological viewpoint it makes absolutely no difference if you're having gay sex within a monogamous gay marriage or if you set yourself up on an Annabel Chong style thing in your local gay club toilets.
No difference at all.
So your only choice is whether you're gonna be a virgin for the rest of your life or not. If so, good luck to you. If not, you might as well pop down the gay club in some leather chaps tonight and bang everyone.

Ahh Doofy, Doofy, Doofy, Doofy. Sola Scriptura my friend, Sola Scriptura. Arguments on morality must be based out of the Bible. Your best arguments are going to based upon 4 passages, two from Leviticus, and three from Pauline epistles. Both Levitical passages are almost the only thing Christians quote from Leviticus cause all the rest we'd basically say was repealed. It was given as law for the old Covenant, since we are not under that Covenant and law but under grace, teaching on morality must then be restated in the New Testament.
Thus you are left with the two Pauline passages if you are intent in claiming that section of Leviticus still holds. At which point you essentially have only one passage that says anything meaningful or gives Paul's thinking on the subject. That's in Romans 1. The thing is Romans 1 is a whole passage not just Romans 1:26 and 27. Now if we assume that verses twenty six and seven are part of a larger thought which they obviously are, if we then assume they're actually talking about all homosexual relationships, then given their context it seems Paul's somewhat ignorant of how people become gay does it not?
I mean really Paul is prefixing all his comments on same gender intercourse and how it's shameful with people turning away from God, worshiping idols, and all manner of other things. And then the result of this is same gender sex, and then the passage goes on to say things get even worse with other stuff. It's a slide in depravity correct? But if Paul's talking about homosexual sex in general, then apparently Paul and the Spirit inspiring him are pretty ignorant. Correct? I mean people don't become gay because of idolatry. Do they? I mean, I didn't. Granted SWG loves star wars a bit too much, but I don't think he actually worships that ATAT in his living room, or that big ol Sony on his TV stand. Paul is talking about a moral slide, that we today for some reason keep saying results in gay relationships. But that idea seems like it'd be a bit foreign to the Roman culture Paul was writing to.
Actually what seems to make more sense is that Paul would have actually been talking about the orgies, where you could take a male slave and inset your penis into his anus and have a good old time. Cheating on your wife, subjugating and dehumanizing another person, since obviously he was now feminine because you had a masculine role in sex. You were now top dog compared to him. And you of course could do all this in the comfort of your worship of a Roman deity.
So yah, I have strong reason to doubt that the Focus on the Family interpretation is super great. Interesting thought while googling to double check a few things, I even found that Brian McLaren a leader in the emerging Church has even gone on record saying that the issue is a lot more fuzzy and admitting a lot of good pastors don't know what to think.
Trust me Doofy, you have not given this issue near as much thought as I have, so for you to pretend as if you're some sort of authority on things in this manner... is a joke.

Oooo... ...Romans 1. How appropriate.
because, having known God they did not glorify [Him] as God, nor gave thanks, but were made vain in their reasonings, and their unintelligent heart was darkened,
professing to be wise, they were made fools

Come back and argue this when you're actually Christian, instead of a pretend Christian worshipping the idea of being a Christian in order to boost your ego and set yourself apart from the masses.
Really, go get yourself off down to the gay club tonight and have a jolly good old time. I'm sure you'll find a way to twist scripture enough to justify it to yourself later on, so no problem.

Show me an ounce of spiritual gifting on your part before you dare attempt to pretend I am not elect. You have no credibility on Christian matters. Your arrogance shows you do not even understand the milk.

Oooo... ...Romans 1. How appropriate.
Come back and argue this when you're actually Christian, instead of a pretend Christian worshipping the idea of being a Christian in order to boost your ego and set yourself apart from the masses.
Really, go get yourself off down to the gay club tonight and have a jolly good old time. I'm sure you'll find a way to twist scripture enough to justify it to yourself later on, so no problem.
so ... where's your counter argument?

The storks didn't. Humans did. They are the ones that labeled them such.
