I was watching last year's WWDC keynote tonight, and I'm amazed by how far Apple has come.

Steve mentions that by WWDC 2006 they're hoping to be shipping intel machines, and by WWDC 2007 they hoped to have the transition mostly complete. Being that the overwhelming rumor is that the transition will be complete tomorrow, that's pretty amazing. Now if only Adobe would live up to what their CEO said a year ago about having their products to the new platform first.

Good job Apple!

Microsoft has said that they will never wait that long between OS updates... and I can't blame them. They become too big and unmanageable.

Apple seems to be doing very well with their update scheme... even if I feel it's perhaps too fast at times (don't get me wrong... I love the jumps).

When microsoft updates their software like apple, they force you to wait about 15 minutes while shutting down to download the updates, and they are usually once a week, mostly for bugs and security.

It's been a full year since Tiger was released, and nearly a full year since we saw it. Likely Tiger will have been out for nearly two full years before Leopard is released. They have slowed things down, they said a while ago that after Panther they'd be settling into a slower release schedule.
