Since I know the mods don't want a gazillion individual threads popping up afterward, I'm prepping by starting this thread.

If actions of past ketynotes remain true, the boards (or at least the lounge) will be shutdown during the show.

Once it is back up, please use this thread to post your praises, gripes, comments, and anything else related to the keynote. Thank you.

P.S. The reason for the early creation of this thread is so I can warn you: There is a highly strong chance Roz Ho is going to be speaking for MS again. Please prepare for such however you feel is nessacary with pillows, ear plugs, emergancy mute buttons, ect. Visual blocks are not necessary as she's kind of cute (or maybe I just think that because she's asian, I don't know).

Anyways enjoy the show, I look forward to our banter afterwards.

woudln't that 5.8GHz network just be 802.11a, which is part of the intel chipset used in the MBPs (but not advertised by Apple)?

They asked everyone to move towards the center? When I was there last time, there was barely any seating (that was 2001). Did they just get a really big room or what?

Wow, it sounds like Steve jumped right into the new products and didn't spend the usual first 20 mins talking about how they've been doing the past few quarters (or is that only a Expo thing?).

Maybe he just wants that much time to talk about Leopard? *drools over Leopard*

Hmm, $2499 for the bottom-of-the-line MacPro... not bad at all!

Wait, 256MB RAM? No way that can be right... though both 'NN and MacRumors claim this. Something fishy about that...

G4 QS 733Mhz • 17" Powerbook 1.33Ghz • 15" MacBook Pro Core Duo 2.16Ghz • Mac Pro 8-Core 3.0 Ghz

It's interesting that he delegated Phil to intro the Mac Pro.

And it comes with 1 gig of RAM, not 256.

Thank Jeebus!

I was pretty sure that had to be wrong. 256 MB of default RAM would be useless on a machine like that. 16 GB max RAM would be drool worthy!! (Not that I can afford that!)

I doubt they can keep it from leaking. All the major s/w developers would need beta versions to test for compatibility. Apples either won't include it in beta, and face the risk of it failing due to incompatibility, or, they will include it, and it will leak.

I guess the "preview release" to devs with not be feature complete, then?

This is different... on Vista, all the backup data is stored on the same partition. Time Machine looks like it backs up to an external drive, and makes recovery easier. Sounds cool so far.
