That's awesome.
I am impressed that they were so direct on the subject even back then.

The Library of COngress has uncompressed high-res tiff versions of most of these.
www.log.gov --> search 'syphilis posters' or 'syphilis WPA' and you'll get links to most of them broken down by WPA region that produced the poster.
my fave: http://memory.loc.gov/master/pnp/cph...0/3b48764u.tif
Tons of other old artwork here too

I dono if it's still a big problem elsewhere, apparently in Winnipeg there's been an outbreak. Like they had ads in busses and stuff. STDs/STIs are a huge reason why I was always scared of just going out and having lots of sex, cause condoms don't provide you 100% assurance. And I'm the type that is convinced it WILL happen to me.

Syphilis is curable... Just takes a couple of shots of penicillin over the course of a few months.
Just go out and have all the sex you want and get tested every three months like everyone else.

Salty won't exactly have to worry about that, if you catch my drift.

Hmmmmmm? I was under the impression most evidence points to it originating from the Americas, no? Probably Central or South America? I'm pretty sure it started showing up in Europe relatively shortly after contact with the New World...
That's okay, we killed 80 or 90 percent of them with our diseases...I suppose they had the right to hit us where it hurts....
