As a Mac purist who finally had to buy a PC, I came to an interesting realization while going down the PC game aisle. You see, when I was PC free, the PC game section had a relatively powerful allure to it, to the extent that I would avoid looking through it and consequently avoid the temptation. I suppose I built up that perception through the years, as I would hear PC users talk with glowing affection for the latest games they were playing. But the remarkable thing is, when I finally browsed through the titles on the shelves, I recognized that there really wasn't much I was missing. Sure, there were a few interesting games, but many of the ones I really would have considered purchasing were also available on the Mac. I now firmly believe the PC gaming edge I always took for granted was greatly inflated.

You wouldn't have to buy a PC if you would have just gotten an Intel Mac.

That still would have been a PC. But, as I explained in my Dell thread, it simply did not make sense to get a Mactel because I would have had to spend twice as much to get a MacBook; I cannot stand integrated graphics. I will likely eventually get a MBP several revision from now and sell or otherwise dispose of my Dell, but I'm fine with it at this time.

its kinda like having 500 colors to choose from, yeah there are tons of choices but you still only like certain colors. but then again I'm not really a gamer. But i do agree that just because you have 500 titles to choose from dosen't mean you want to play them all.

It really just another excuse not to make the switch

real
With some loud music + a friend to chat nearby you can get alot done. - but jezz, I'd avoid it if I had the choice---- If only real people came with Alpha Channels.......:)

Your taste in games has been influenced by paying attention only to the games which come out on Mac. You've been programmed to dislike run-of-the-mill PC games.

Download and install a few 3D game demos, then come back again and state that you don't appreciate the Wintel game collection.

P.S. Is Spore coming for the Mac (PPC and/or Intel)?

But does remarkable quite cover it? I feel your observation calls for something more. Astonishing, unbelievable, out of this world. No. The word to describe this is mind-blowing.
