You should immediatly consult with an attorney. You are looking at many, many years in jail.

If you can't even keep a straight story in an online posting, you need a lawyer.

I'd try to talk to the woman you bumped and apologize profusely and offer to pay for any damage to the car.

IE, acting like a dick is going to get you very screwed.

Might as well turn yourself in now. You might avert the humiliating perp walk that way.

Unless there is damage, she doesn't have a case.

If you are concerned, I would give her a call and try to iron it out... before the little mark you left on her bumper becomes something it isn't.

In Chicago I thought you were supposed to bump the cars in front of you and behind you.

And to the right of you after driving on the sidewalk.

When a friend of mine hit a parked car, the other guy called the police. The police wouldn't come because there wasn't any moving violation to report.

I guess all you can do is trande insurance information if there is damage.

How's that different from someone slamming into a parked car at 35MPH? I can see if the officers wouldnt' come out because there wasn't any visible damage. But how can one car being driven into another (how ever lightly) not be a moving violation??

I bumped into a car once and left a little mark on the lower side. I didn't have paper to leave a note, so I sat in my car for over an hour till they showed up. I must have dozed off, because after about an hour and a half, I woke up and the car was gone. I wasn't sure what to do since I didn't have paper to write down their license plate number. I wasn't sure what to do. I eventually left since there was no way of tracking him down.

I got rear-ended in a parking lot by an Accord going 35 mph. She wouldn't give me her insurance, so I called the cops, and she talked to the cops, and finally gave me her insurance info. She was an elderly Japanese lady, friendly, but very scared.

I heard that if you hit someone going under 10 mph it isn't considered a hit. you are not liable.

Disclaimer: This is what I heard, I have no proff of this at all.
With some loud music + a friend to chat nearby you can get alot done. - but jezz, I'd avoid it if I had the choice---- If only real people came with Alpha Channels.......:)

It's not illegal to touch things in public (things, not people ). With your hand, car, or anything else. As long as there is no damage, then you're ok.

Leave a super polite note explaining you hit the car... especially if you have a front plate with rusty bolts holding it on. Or, just park it, and maybe hte person will notice and leave a super polite note on your car, with their contact info for paying for some of the repaint. Then you can just ignore the note, and next time that person sees your car they'll steal your freakin windshield wipers for being a stupid bitch.
