scroll down until you get "MP3 Gets Ready to Handle Wi-Fi"

Do you think this could shun the Zune at all? Didn't they recently report that the Zune will not be able to do share tracks with other listeners?

This could get interesting. Discuss.

I like the idea of Wifi to stream files to a server or to download updates/music etc. or to listen to streams.

Right now only people with computers can buy an iPod so it would be nice to allow them to buy songs through Wi-fi,

I just don't see wi-fi being a big hit with these devices... until Apple provides it with fantastic iTunes integration... and even then, most people won't use it unless it's idiot proof. Many people that have the iPod don't even have wi-fi...

The player in question isn't a recognized brand name, so it's not going to overtake iTunes anytime soon. For $299, it looks like you get a cool player, but wouldn't you rather get a iPod video for that much?

It could be if Apple partnered with traditional retailers like Borders to provide iTunes 'download zones' or something where you would have free WiFi with which to connct your iPod to the music store to download music. Or, you know, in an Apple Store...

Actually, they could partner with T-Mobile and work out a deal where access to the iTunes music store was free or something. That would be huge.

Not that I disagree but how do you know that?
