-------
Mac OS X Archive has been launched!!!
I just wanted to report that the Mac OS X Archive project has been officially launched.
What is it?
Mac OS X Archive is what the name implies, an archive. It's an archive of Mac OS X applications. Sometimes older versions of software works better. Sometimes an older version will run better on an older machine. Sometimes you cannot find the older version of an application because most app websites only provide the newest releases. So, an archive allows you to go back in time.
OS X Archive wants to provide the source you are looking for.
So please join the bandwagon and support the project !
If you're a developer or if you would like to contribute please let me know! Were currently talking to some developers to get the OK to host their applications. More will be added shortly.
Thanks!
And enjoy .

Cool. I do this whenever I upgrade versions.. it really pisses me off when the 'new improved' version cant' do something the old one could.

Hmm, thats kinda cool. But I've never wanted to use an older version of an application, except when the author changed the application from freeware -> shareware

Very cool idea.
You're going to need some automated backend solution to keep this happening though, if you haven't one already. Manual posts to your WordPress blog will get old in a hurry, I'm sure.
WordPress does support posts via email. What you could do is setup a crontab that monitors a directory and emails new entries to your blog. Just a thought, you've probably already put thought into your infrastructure, but I'm curious to know what you came up with

Hey,
Thanks for the tip besson3c, Right now. It's just going to be manual, But there are plans to switch over to an automated backend. I've been playing with some automation, When the time comes it'll be updated. No one will probably notice though. So the transition should be cake . Thanks for your ideas and support!

I'd use a mysql/php driven file databasing program to keep all your files in order.
paFileDb is good.
