Yo.
I'm looking for alternatives to Paypal which allow donations without setting up a shopping cart or the like. Must be capable of international transactions (i.e. UK > UK, US > UK).
Anyone got any suggestions?
Thanks guys.

Amazon allows donations. No idea about the shopping cart to do it.

US only (requires US credit card and US checking account).

There really need to be a new competitor to Paypal. I'm sick of them raising fee every month.
Google Bank please.

A few online resellers will accept Google Checkout as payment, but only a few. And it still isn't capable of person-to-person or auction payments yet.

BTW guys, I'm not simply dismissing suggestions out of hand - I'm having a look at their sites as you suggest them, so it's all useful stuff. Keep 'em coming.

Just get a merchant account? Then you can take credit cards from anywhere.
Contact your bank and (provided they are a big enough bank) they should be able to get you set up. There is usually a monthly fee, though (in the US it is around $20-30).

UK merchant account providers tend to be completely anal. For example, you generally have to provide trading history... ...if you haven't got a trading history due to it being a new operation, you've pretty much had it.

I just used Google Checkout. It's freakin' awesome.
I used it on a website I never been to before and it made it sooo easy. Damn, they did it again. Much better than paypal.

Nochex is well known in the UK as a paypal competitor. Just because you, in the US, have never heard of them, in the UK, doesn't make them worthless.

yeah you're right, sometimes it's hard to think globally when the "internetz" has no real physical location.

So tell us about Nochex. Their site says they have "competitive" fees-some real-world experiences would be worthwhile here.
Frankly, since eBay and PayPal are one and the same, I really don't like either now. Setting up a merchant account with PayPal (small or large the process is the same) felt like signing up for a mortgage on a huge house. Nochex, as an alternative, should be a Good ThingĀ® for consumers, but I'd like to hear more about it.
This situation reminds me of back in the '70s when American Express was THE international money company. If THEY were to set up a competing service, (that was really competitive, not exorbitantly expensive) that would be awesome.

Nochex is really only useful for UK customers. They avoided going head to head with paypal, carving out a smaller market instead.
