I was just going to the store this morning to purchase an iMac and the store is down...ir has the post it that says we are busy updating the store and will be back within the hour....

sounds like some updates are coming..

This was seen at 830 a.m.

I just wish phone sales would let me buy an iMac...when I called they told me it would be best to hold off????http://forums.macnn.com/images/smili...l/confused.gif

If it's an updated Mac mini I'll be ordering my temporary mac mini. Untill I can afford a bigger one or if Apple comes to its senses and makes a mid range headless mac.

There are rumours of a new 23" Merom iMac coming this month.

It's posted every single time some idiot posts an "OMG Apple Store Is Down" thread.

You will find dozens of locked ones if you search this (and the other) forums.

I really thought such threads were officially banned. Kind of amusing though.

Yet another "Apple Store Down" thread... Wasn't there one on Saturday or Sunday? Anyway, Eug posted the funny stuff so I'll refrain.

No I won't!

OMG!!! WTF!!! BBQ!!! AGAIN!!!

What would be better than posting "the Apple Store is down" would be to say "it's back up and this is what's different..." But people seem to only react to the possibility of a change-when it's often just an update to a graphic on the page, not a product.

I hate to say it, but I think they should just make an 'Official Apple Store is Down' thread and be done with it. That way they just bump it everytime the store is down, rather than start a new one

Fixed.

P.S. It seems the two most likely candidates are an updated Mac mini and a 23" Merom iMac, although everyone seems to think the iMac is coming next week.

The other possibilities are new iPods (next week?), new Cinema Displays (with HDCP support), and new MacBook Pros (with Merom).

Well, it would have to be more substantial than just a minor graphics thing to warrant bringing a store down completely. Most likely a server related issue or coding change.

Yeah, great specs for the iPod and and nano. It looks exactly the same though, and the prices haven't changed either.

I wish the boards would automatically block threads with this title. All that ever happens is people post those sticky images..people start guessing what might be new... then when it is back up everyone is disappointed that there is nothing or new products get started on the new products anyway.

These threads have a shelf life of about 4 hours.

These threads are meant to have a shelf life of only about an hour, so actually that's pretty good then.

Anyways, personally I like 'em.

Mind the empty square next to the 30 inch Cinema ad (on apple.com). Was it there already ? Or is that because I'm on a PC that doesn't have QT installed ?

It's the leopard sneak peak... Maybe they only show it to mac users so bill gates can't steal their ideas?

I think not reading a thread on MacNN would be an impossibility for SWG.

Nope. I see "Introducing Mac Pro", "Leopard sneak peak", "30 inch LCDs" and a blank space. Weird. I'm on firefox. Ah well.
