Does it work with Transmit the same way as BBedit?

No idea since I neither use BBedit nor Transmit.

TextMate is really awesome and this coming from someone who greatly dislike anything related to coding.

I do all of my web development in TextMate now. Drag a CSS file from desktop to textmate document and it automatically insert a full link ref tag. Couldn't be any sweeter.

I will buy a copy very soon.

Will do.

I just switched from Dreamweaver which has a built-in FTP client. I've been using Cyberduck recently though.

I open Transmit files to Textmate all the time then save and Transmit will automatically upload them. You just need to set default app to TextMate in Transmit Preferences > Files then you'll be one click away from editing any files in TextMate.

'Tis a beautiful app. I've been using the 30-day demo for several months now (shame on me... ) and have every intention of buying it as soon as I get my first paycheck from my new job (should be in a few days). As a beginner Java/C++ programmer, it's a lifesaver.

I have been a TextMate user (I paid!) for about a year now. I love it, and I wish I could learn even more of the cool features, but I just don't have time. I learn a new feature or two each project.

Heh, by "had dinner with" you mean you were at a large dinner party which he also attended?

I like TextMate and bought a copy as I'm doing some Rails work currently. It seems especially geared towards Rails and I appreciate some of its features, though generally I find I use about 1% of the gizmos packed into these sorts of apps. I do think the price is a little steep, though. But anyway, I agree TextMate is a cool app and really a nice example of what I like about the Mac platform in general.

Well I sat next to him and talked with him, which is still special in itself.

I do and I gladly paid for it. It's the best editor I have ever used by a wide margin. It has sped up my work a lot and helps me avoid mistakes.

Yeah, I'd have a license. And I'd buy a second license if he fixed the Undo feature.

What's wrong with it? Seems to be working fine for me…

I am also a happy user of TextMate for about 6 months now. I still use Dreamweaver for certain web pages I have to maintain, but I do all of my CSS designed sites in TextMate.

If you are referring to the way Undo only undoes one character at a time, I dislike that also. It would be nice to have a pref you can set for how Undo works.

Another great program to go along with TextMate is UnicodeChecker. It will install a service on your machine which you can use to convert unicode characters in your code being written in TextMate.

Ah, I see. I found that helpful, because most of my mistakes are spelling mistakes of latex commands, so I would say that's rather a deliberate choice.

I run into problems when trying to use an encoding other than unicode (for my latex projects, I have to use latin1 so I can exchange files easily with my co-workers). The developer doesn't seem overly enthusiastic to fix it, though.
