Go get some antibiotics... usually clears it up pretty quickly.

You might have a scratched cornea too. My roommate scratched his and I thought he had pink eye.

Conjunctivitis is nothing to mess with. GO SEE A DOCTOR TO HAVE IT DIAGNOSED. Antibiotics won't do ANYTHING to virally caused conjunctivitis. Allergically (or irritant) caused conjunctivitis can often be cleared up with a good flush with saline and some mild antihistamines. But you NEED TO SEE A DOCTOR to make sure what you have and to get the appropriate medications for it. If you wait too long and it's NOT what you think, you could scar your corneas. Seriously, SEE A DOCTOR NOW.

You only have two eyeballs, and, like most people, you probably use them both every day.

I would do some research regarding your eye infection, but more than likely, antibiotics are the only thing that will help you short term. It could clear up, or it could spread. You should stop masturbating immediately as that could make it worse! If you try rinsing your eye, use distilled or otherwise sterile water.

Wash your hands and keep them away from your eyes and nose. You could easily spread it to others.

Yeah, most important thing before you go to the doctor is DO NOT TOUCH YOUR EYE. Yes, I know it hurts, itches, etc... but you will spread it if it's pink eye. Wash your hands a lot too.

I've had all three types, I get it about once a year, mainly due to allergies.

Sucks.

I just snipped my palm with a pair of scissors, cutting sheet rock tape, if that makes you feel any better.

I had pink eye a few times when I was a child. It was just itchy and not really swollen. My main issue was not spreading it around the household to other family members.

Ask the doctor for an ointment, instead of drops. Helped me tremendously. Whatever touches your infected eye, wash it (your hands) or throw it away right away (paper towels). Put a towel on your pillow before you go to sleep, and put it into your dirty laundry in the morning.

Amazing what you learn once you have kids.

Conjunctivitis is an inflammation of the conjunctiva. If you are a contact lens wearer, get your eye specialist to check for signs of GPC and discontinue contact lens use immediately.

Pink eye? No thank you.

Just find an English speaking doctor. There are usually a few around. My prefecture has an Emergency medical handbook with a whole lot of common medical phrases and illnesses translated into English (sometimes very badly, which makes for a fun read).

(actually while looking at the book, and finding an english word I didn't understand, I googled and found the book online. Its a super super super super funny read. Hopefully it'll help you out. [bitter] Even if you were a horrible summer room mate in college. [/bitter])

it might be if we were talking about canada, glaucoma, and medical marijuana.
but instead it's japan, conjunctivitis, and more than likely antibacterial eye-drops.

close, but not quite.

i'm going to the doctor now. 受付は8時からなので、 早く行ったほうがいいかなぁ

well i went, he looked at my eye & swore it was a viral conjunctivitis case, swabbed my eye (youch!) then the results said neg. so, he gave me a prescription for antibiotic drops.
