Is it technically possible to make a satellite a WiFi hotspot, and if so, what would be the maximum data transfer speed?

If I change my way of living, and if I pave my streets with good times, will the mountain keep on giving…

Yes, it's already being done in many rural areas that don't have DSL/Cable infrastructure. It's very expensive and normally comes in shared T1 speeds.
