So I am in Central Europe right now, with an opportunity to stay and work and set up my own business (consulting and editing). I have spent about 1.2 years out here in the past, but went back to Canada and continued my stint in the Military. However, the military was less than desirable.
So I have spent most of my life in Canada, but am thinking of taking the chance and staying out here to see how it works. Life is pretty good out here, and I found a group of Canadians and a hockey team. Just worried about the long-term (maybe I am sweating the small stuff). I am in my late-twenties with a BA, working on my MA by distance from a University in Canada.
Any advice would help.

You should have just asked a mod to move your thread.
If you like Canada, I would just stay there.

Why not try? I don't know what all you have tying you to Canada, but if there isn't really anything, I don't see any reason to go back if you've got something elsewhere.

You mentioned you were worried about something "in the long term" but didn't mention what it was--anything specific?
I've known a number of people who lived overseas for a time in their lives and I've not met anyone who has regretted it yet. You'll know when its time to come back.

If you don't try it, you'll never know. And you can always change your mind with time.
Don't sweat the small stuff, and live the day.

Stay if you like it here. Enjoy your chance to live and work abroad.
You can always go back.
What arguments speak against staying?

Yeah dude. Why worry about long term? I'm staying down here for the foreseeable future. I won't be dragged back to the cold north anytime soon.

What long term problem could setting up your own business in a business friendly area be? You aren't going to live forever, you know. Unless you're running out on responsibilities, GO FOR IT.

I think you're sweating the small stuff. Sounds like you've already got a nice warm spot waiting for you if you decide to head over.
