I am looking to get one of the new iMacs with the Core 2 Duo processor, and I need some help with finding the best place to buy one from. I don't wanna pay tax or shipping, so that right there kills off Apple's web site and the Apple retail stores. Amazon has free shipping and no tax, but there backed-up for two months on the new iMacs.

I've had very good luck with powermax.com, they know and love macs. Free shipping and I think only tax if you live in Oregon, not sure.

If you have a CompUSA nearby, go there, if they have an Apple Solutions Consultant on staff. They are Apple employees who work out of most CompUSAs.

I've come to like buying Macs from Amazon.com, They generally don't charge sales tax, and are almost always running rebates. Unlike some places(MacMall) you can actually expect to get the rebate check too...
