I'm looking for a part or full time support job in Seattle. Ideal situation would be an office or school that needed 15-20 hours a week of Mac Support but willing to do full time as well. I'm Apple Certified in Help Desk for Panther and Tiger, as well as a AC Desktop and Portable Tech. I can pretty much support any network and fix any problem.

I've got many years of experience and tons of great references. If anyone knows of anything, let me know!

Thanks.

John

Would've had a great $25 an hour job for you with summers off 2 months ago. We did a one to one deployment and had to hire more techs. I'll let you know if we hire anyone more.

Sorry.

Hey goMac... did you go to SeattleU? I think I remember seeing an image you posted was hosted on their servers. Just wondering... I graduated in '04.

Hmm, I know the guy who runs CreativeTechs over there. I don't know if they're currently looking for anyone, but I can ask. If you're interested, you can PM me any info you'd want me to send along.

Thanks nonhuman, I'm familiar with him. I'm currently doing some consulting, and I know some people who work there too. I'm looking for one system to support rather than running all over town supporting everyone's system.

Nope. I went to University of Portland, and am actually moving back to finish at Portland State University hopefully next year.

Ah, gotcha. I did the whole in-house thing for a while. Hated it. That's why I'm consulting now.

I'm actually looking to get out of IT all together, but it pays well while I'm looking at other options. If I had a smallish office or school to support, after a few weeks of nailing things down, it would pretty much be gravy from then on out.

This reminds me, at one time the 'NN admins were discussing if a dedicated "Mac Job Opportunities" forum was worthwhile. I never heard anything back from what I remember.

I remember that discussion... Is there anyway we could make some progress about that? Perhaps a subforum of the community or perhaps even the lounge?

Also, still looking for work. I'm smart! Hire me!

MAKE your own work or job.

It's possible.

It just takes motivation.

Get a resume' service to write you a great resume' and send it with a KILLER INTRO LETTER to all the places you wanna work. Your job is to SELL YOURSELF! Dress sharp, be articulate, and leave the cute BS at home.

Yes, but for those of us who already have and do freelance work it's always nice to have another place to find new jobs/clients.

Dressing sharp isn't always necessary in the IT industry

Not everyone wants to do that, despite the benefits. The income disparity between being an employee vs freelancer in my wife's industry can be 5-10x, yet people still want to be employees.

for most of the better jobs, IT IS. a scruffy IT type may offend clients. Clean, shaven, quiet=works.
