I suprised at how interesting it is.
But do they have camera people chasing them around to get those running shots?
I know they have fixed ones. If they do that poeple chasing them wonder how they got the meerkats to trust them.

Not sure about how they get the running shots. I have seen scenes where they were attaching a collar to (IIRC) Tosca (when they thought enough time had elapsed and she was really going to head her own new family group) and the researchers were just picking them up by hand and moving them out of the way whenever they needed to. Point being that they did seem to trust these humans.

Just started watching it when they were showing the top 10 -- I still need to find out how to get all the episodes form the beginning, though.
"Everything's so clear to me now: I'm the keeper of the cheese and you're the lemon merchant. Get it? And he knows it.
That's why he's gonna kill us. So we got to beat it. Yeah. Before he let's loose the marmosets on us."

I don't see Shakespeare in the opening credits. How did he die?

Yes. It's GREAT! Must be in the Top 10 shows on the tube. It's more than just cute. It is life and death and fun and games and intrigue and adventure in the lives of these individual animals and their groups. It is wonderful and EASILY as absorbing as any film or ongoing TV drama.

Remarkable, actually.

Here's what happened to poor little Shakespeare. He was a great little guy. I am really saddened.

Cold Comfort
It's winter and there's been a tragedy at Meerkat Manor. Courageous little Shakespeare hasn't reappeared since the Lazuli attacked. It's presumed that he died defending Flower's pups. Big Si, dominant male of arch rivals the Lazuli, has also died, thus leaving Cazanna, their dominant female, without a mate. But hapless Yousarrian is heading in her direction and looks likely to become the Lazuli's new dominant male.
