When i travelled all the way from Hong Kong to Toronto in 1999 for my college education, the first western culture i learnt was the existence of pizza delivery. It's amazing; combined with the internet effect i could virtually stay home 24/7. Now i've been back to this side of the planet for a few years and all of a sudden i sorta miss all those kickass pizzas delivered to me when i had to rush for my endless midterms in those sucky Toronto winter. I still remember my favorite pizza type was the meat lover from Dominos.

I never order pizza or other food. I make it myself or go out eating.

Dominos pizzas don't deserve the name. However, there's a great little pizza joint on Roncesvalles Avenue. They make real thin crust pizza that doesn't suck. And get them to you nice and hot.

I wouldn't say its just for the lazy.
My wife and I order delivery from time to time because we cannot get out of the house (twin baby girls)
Then there are informal parties where we decided to have pizza or chinese food and its easier to have them deliver it.

All in all though I stay away from dominos but go with local non-chain restaruants that deliver.

Since the poll is based on weekly numbers that really doesn't fit my usage patterns. Its like maybe once a month, or even once every other month. Very infrequent.

I think most of us would go broke if we ordered food to be delivered every day. You'd need a $300/month/person food budget for that. No way.

Can't vote. I never order food because all the food is just around the corner. So it's either takeaway or going out. And it's almost always asian stuff, never pizza(maybe once a year). I eat Thai, Japanese, Indian or Indonesian at least 2 times a week. Not much Chinese though, all the good places are not in my neighbourhood. I don't think it's lazyness(sure), it's just too damn easy to walk out of the door and get some excellent quality for a good price.

Mmmm, what shall i eat tonight?

Once a month, or less.

I'd rather go and pick it up myself, because it will be fresher.

our local pizza place delivers, at not a bad rate and very good pizza. Wish our chinese place did. Parking near them is a pain.

there's always takeout taxi, they will pick up food from places that don't deliver, but that costs a TON.

I needed another option. We get delivery about once a month or so. If we don't feel like cooking we go out. If we don't feel like going out, we cook in. There are very few situations where we feel like waiting around for the food to arrive, so delivery isn't much of an option for us.

I never seem to live where there IS delivery. It sucks really. Sometimes, you have a few drinks and want some food but the choice is to eat some cereal or go pick it up.

Nothing wrong with a bowl of cereal in the evening, I do it all the time. Then again, I have huge bowls of pasta for breakfast sometimes, so work that out.

Last time I ordered delivery was... let me see... some time in the summer of 2003, I think. We did it quite a bit back then; perhaps once every ten days or so. The main reason we did it was that we lived so far away from everything (small town of about 150 inhabitants) that if we were too lazy to cook, it was just so much easier to have something delivered than to go all the way into town and pick something up.

Now that I live in the city, though, there’s absolutely no reason for delivery; I can’t turn a corner without hitting a pizza place here. I still try to cook at home as much as possible, though.

I think most of us would go broke if we ordered food to be delivered every day. You'd need a $300/month/person food budget for that. No way.
Hm. My food budget is about $300 per month, and that’s not much. It’s about 50 kroner per day—you’d be damn hard pressed to eat for much less than that here, if you want to treat yourself to just a tiny bit of luxury now and then (like buying lunch in the school cafeteria sometimes)...

I'm a Campusfood person myself - that being said, I have blasted them over some of the ads they've shoved on the site. I'm sorry; if I've just gone through your company for a meal I do not want an eternally damned audio ad!

For full disclosure, after I emailed and bitched, they set my account so that those things don't say hello.

Don't try to outweird me, I get stranger things than you free with my breakfast cereal.
