Any structure that small with 8-10" columns looks awful.
Colums look good when they ARE NEEDED TO HOLD UP THE STRUCTURE! Not just picked out of a catalogue by someone with less taste than brain cells.

Sways, probably.
As for me,
A few friends call me Two Sheds and that's all there is to it.
"Two Sheds" indeed.

My shed is 8'x12' and my brother and I built it ourselves out of rough sawn lumber. It's got 12" wide pine plank floors, a loft inside for extra storage, and in addition to the 3' wide entry door, the left end is a set of double doors. (Just in case I ever own a riding lawnmower).
Reasonably serious, but it did NOT need columns.

Madison, me and my father have built many just as you describe.
Except with ~6' entry doors, but still made completely out of 4x4s, 4x6s, and 8x8 rough sawn timber. Best shed available IMO.

Metal ones rust and the ants n termites eat the wooden ones. I put all that stuff in the garage. A little barrior of Durisban helps!

There are several preventative methods that work very well to keep away the mites. One would be to use pressure treated lumber for the bottom framework.
We don't have many here up North anyways.

That hanging thingy is not a shed. I saw a piece on Discovery channel about it once. They're designed to live in (if you can believe it).

Wow...
Would've every movement send the pod-thing swinging? I'd be pretty nauseous after a few hours.
